Under One Tree Forest School

Under One Tree Forest School We offer fun and educational STAY and PLAY Forest School sessions to preschoolers and their carers on Tuesday & Friday mornings.

We also work with SCHOOLS and PRESCHOOLS offering bespoke packages as well as running fun forest themed PARTIES for children.

We made it! What a fabulous day for our challenge. The weather was almost perfect, had to save our sandwiches from the dust being blown around at Holmbury Hill, and the hills were definitely a challenge. The steps on the final ascent to Box Hill almost finished us off but we all made it to the end! Thank you for all your generous donations.
Just to update you we did around 36km, 53,000steps, gained over 1000m and walked for over 8 hours. Feet and legs could be better....😊

What is Under One Tree Forest School about?

Hi, my name is Suzanne James, I am the Leader, and founder, of Under One Tree Forest School. I am the mother of two adventurous boys and one bouncy dog. I am a qualified Primary teacher with over 17 years of experience. I also hold a Forest School Level 3 qualification and am trained in Paediatric and Outdoor Pursuits First Aid.

My passion for working with children, alongside my love of spending time in the fresh air has led me to where I am today. I want to be able to offer the freedom and holistic approach to learning that is encompassed in the Forest School way of life.

We offer Stay and Play sessions for toddlers to come along and have fun with a grown-up, as well as After School Camp for Primary aged children.

Our sessions will begin by coming together around the fire pit and learning some of our Forest School rules. There will be a focused, adult led activity each session which will be introduced before children are then free, under supervision, to go off and explore our woodland site for themselves. The session will come to a close around the fire pit and children will have the chance to share things they’ve found or enjoyed during the session.
