It is with the hugest admiration that I announce that David Papala has achieved his Black Belt (Shodan), by completing his full club Kata, with structured Kihon & With 30 minutes of Full Contact Kumite, the grading was spread over two lessons

David showed how true strength and determination throughout can get you through the hardest physical tests, and has done himself and the club proud,

As we both started the Martial Arts journey at roughly the same time, in the early 90’s, it was very emotional presenting his Belt to him at the end of the class

It was so amazing to see David Sparring with his son Matthew, who helped him achieve his belt,

All that is left is to present his 1st Dan Certificate from the Club & the AMA at next week’s lesson,

デビッド、本当に誇りに思うよ。押忍！

To all,
Tomorrow nights class is going to be a special one,…

Marking the culmination of many years of dedication, blood sweat and tears,… and lots of Bruises,… lots and lots of Bruises,…

On this occasion it has been a very long wait for both, and is even more special because of their perseverance dog eared determination,

Dave & Dan will complete the second part of their epic Shodan Grading tomorrow night,

Last week they completed their Kata in Medium, full Speed, and Slow, with the last one Blindfolded!

Tomorrow night class is the last test though,…….

…Dan & Dave will complete a full half hour Kumite with no breaks, Full Contact, this will test there fitness/endurance, control, and will power,

This is going to be brutal,… But at the end of this long journey they will both walk,…(hobble) away with their Shodan 1st Dan grade which will be awarded to them at the following weeks class,

Good luck boys!

Osu!
