Thank you to Fergus Morrison Tree Surgeon whose team came to help with some of our storm damage. The team were fabulous at letting the children watch what they were doing and answered any questions they had. We made wooden discs from the trees to be used for our learning so look out for these the next time you are in our woodland🌲 🌳

Some of our senior staff completed their AED and CPR training today.
Although these aspect are covered in our paediatric first aid training, we wanted to ensure our staff were confident in using the model of defibrillator we have in our nursery.
Our fabulous families had previously raised funds for us to have our own defibrillator based in the nursery. Without an AED the chance of survival decreases by 10 percent for each minute that passes without defibrillation.
Luckily we have not had to use it, but should we ever need to, our staff are incredibly well prepared.

Drum roll please……. Our “little” nursery has raised £750 for Children in Need 😱😱😱!!!! We cannot believe it. Thank you so so much to all our families that baked and donated money. We are astounded by the generosity and support. Well done team Oakwell ❤️ 🐻

☔️Our assessor, Karen, arrived at Oakwell Children’s Nursery just as the rain came on - the nursery kindly loaned her a jacket and wellies so that she could go down to the woods to carry out a planned outdoor observation ☔️

We have had to postpone festival in the field 😫 as much as T in the Park would normally go ahead in the Scottish weather, sadly our cardboard props have got a bit wet!
We will therefore try again for next week.
