What an incredible way to end an amazing year!

Thank you so much for all your support. We are absolutely delighted to share that, as we tot everything up, we have officially smashed our £18,000 fundraising target and, with match funding boosting the final figure, now have nearer £20,000 firmly in our sights!

We couldn't have achieved this without the generosity, enthusiasm and support of our wonderful school community. Thank you for making such a difference.

Have a fantastic summer holiday!

🎨 Exciting Arts Development at Lingfield Primary! 🎨

We were delighted to welcome Alice Griffiths, who leads the Young Arts programme at The Arts Society East Grinstead The Arts Society, to our school last week.
After seeing some of our pupils’ artwork on social media, Alice got in touch and we were pleased to arrange a visit to explore how Young Arts could support our creative curriculum. We discussed the wide range of opportunities available through the programme, including grants and funding for equipment, as well as ways to further enrich the arts across our school.
It was a fantastic opportunity to share our approach to art, discuss the materials and techniques we use, and consider how we can continue to ensure progression and high-quality outcomes for our pupils—particularly within our sculpture units. Alice was incredibly enthusiastic about the work already taking place and the potential for future collaboration.
We look forward to staying in touch.

Our Year 6 pupils put the teamwork, communication and problem-solving skills they developed on their residential trip into action by designing and completing their own obstacle courses during PE. They had the added challenge of completing these with blindfolds! Well done, Year 6! 💪🌳

🌟 We’re delighted to share some wonderful news! 🌟

We are incredibly proud to have been awarded the Surrey Young Carers Angel Award in recognition of our commitment to supporting young carers within our school community.

This week, we were pleased to welcome Action for Carers Surrey, who met with a group of our amazing young carers. They were fantastic ambassadors for our school, speaking confidently about the support they receive and the difference it makes.

At our school, we are committed to ensuring that children with caring responsibilities feel recognised, valued and supported so they can flourish both academically and emotionally.

This award is a reflection of the kindness, care and inclusive ethos that runs through our whole school community.

A huge thank you to our staff, pupils and families for helping to create such a supportive environment.

Thanks to everyone who was able to donate to our appeal this term. We raised £78.93 towards our fundraising total.

✨ Year 3 have been investigating how light reflects from different materials, exploring why shiny, smooth and light-coloured surfaces reflect light best. They then used their scientific knowledge to design reflective book bags to help improve visibility and stay safe. 🌟🎒

In maths in Year 1, the children have been learning about money and recognising the value of different coins - not easy when they’re all different sizes, shapes and colours!
So to practice their new learning, some of the children turned into eager customers as they explored the world of money through play.
They had a variety of classroom items each with a different ‘price tag’. The children carefully selected what they wanted to ‘buy’ and used pretend coins to work out exactly how much they needed to pay.
The children worked hard to identify the different coins, count them and carefully think about whether they had the exact amount - no change allowed!

🦈 Shark-tastic Learning in Reception! 🦈

Our Reception children have loved learning all about sharks! We were very lucky that Mrs. Blythe brought in a real shark’s jaw for us to explore. The children enjoyed feeling the cartilage, looking closely at the rows of shark teeth, and discovering lots of fascinating shark facts.

Inspired by their learning, the children created their own shark posters, which are now proudly displayed in our classroom.

This exciting hands-on experience supported the children’s understanding of the world, developed their language and communication skills, and encouraged them to be curious, ask questions and share their ideas—wonderful examples of the Characteristics of Effective Learning in action!
