Eagle Eye Innovations Ltd

Eagle Eye Innovations Ltd We are the longest running, UK based drone training and consultancy agency.

Since 2015 EEI has trained and assisted organisations globally in understanding the incredible benefits and capabilities of Remotely Piloted Air Systems, more commonly referred to as drones. As the longest-running academy accredited by the CAA, EEI has trained and highlighted the advantages of this technology to a diverse audience, including a large proportion of the UK's police forces and other e

mergency services and large corporates in the sub 25 kg category. EEI’s experience is unmatched, with a combined 70+ years of experience as instructors on the RAF's MQ-9 Reaper fleet and other crewed and uncrewed platforms. Although EEI’s instructors have left the RAF, they still provide RAF Reaper qualified civilian instructors to train new RAF crew members in the Reaper simulator.

As the UK drone sector shifts towards more complex frameworks, navigating the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) application process can feel like a daunting bottleneck. At Eagle Eye Innovations, we understand that establishing a solid starting foundation is critical for commercial groups looking to fully exploit uncrewed systems within UK airspace.

Our comprehensive SORA (Specific Operations Risk Assessment) Support Service matches your organisation with our dedicated Subject Matter Experts (SMEs). We’ll partner directly with your team to handle the preparation, compilation, and submittal of your UK SORA application. By breaking down the intricate 14-step workflow into manageable segments, we ensure your team understands every phase while eliminating wasted effort and unnecessary costs.

Here is exactly how our SORA SMEs guide your operation from concept to CAA approval:

▪️Phase 1 Workflow & SAIL Determination: We provide focused advice to ensure your initial calculations are completed flawlessly, accurately arriving at the correct Safety Assurance and Integrity Level (SAIL) determination for your Specific Category operations.

▪️Phase 2 Compliance & Risk Analysis: Our team guides you through the complexities of Operational Safety Objectives (OSOs) and helps generate essential safety events, including Hazard Identification and Functional Hazard Analysis (FHA).

▪️Portal Submission & CAA Liaison: We work hand-in-hand with your organisation within the CAA Application Portal and advise you on how to confidently manage interactions, including responding to Oversight responses during the official review process.

Whether you are looking for direct, end-to-end consultancy or want to upskill your team via our 3-day "Mastering UK SORA for Drone Operations" training course, EEI is here to de-risk your regulatory journey.

Let's unlock your advanced flight capabilities together.

On Thursday Julie and Ed were at the National Air & Space Camp at RAF Syerston.

It was fantastic to meet so many enthusiastic cadets and discuss the exciting career opportunities emerging within the UK drone sector. From commercial drone operations and consultancy to training and innovation, it was great to showcase the many pathways available in this rapidly evolving industry.

Despite the heavy rain showers throughout the event, the enthusiasm of the cadets and the industry partners we networked with remained undiminished, creating a fantastic atmosphere of learning, collaboration, and shared passion for aviation and technology.

A huge thank you to the organisers and, most importantly, the cadets who took the time to visit us.

The future of aviation is in safe hands!

🚨 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗔𝗹𝗲𝗿𝘁! 🚨

We are delighted to announce that Catherine Thorne has joined the Eagle Eye Innovations team as an RPAS Academy Instructor RAE.

Catherine brings more than 20 years of experience across defence intelligence, government analysis, and commercial drone operations to Eagle Eye Innovations.

Beginning her career in the RAF as an Intelligence Analyst, working across multi‑sensor exploitation and ISR reporting. Toward the end of her RAF service, she supported the development of the UK’s emerging Predator intelligence capability, training UK analysts in FMV exploitation and helping to establish early workflows and standards for intelligence‑led UAV operations in partnership with MOD and US teams.

Following her RAF career, she continued to work in specialist imagery roles. As a Forensic Imagery Analyst, she provided specialist CCTV and surveillance analysis for criminal and civil cases, delivering expert witness assessments on facial comparison, object and vehicle analysis, and the reconstruction of events from video evidence. She later joined HMRC, producing evidential graphics and collating complex fraud material into clear, court‑ready presentations.

Most recently, at Defra’s Rural Payments Agency, she worked as an Intelligence Analyst, identifying fraud, error, and behavioural patterns within national land‑mapping systems and supporting intelligence‑led operational decision‑making.

More recently, she has been running her own commercial UAV business, specialising in roof inspections, property imagery and creative aerial videography under GVC and PDRA01 procedures.

Catherine's excited to bring her operational background, analytical experience, and commercial UAV capability to Eagle Eye Innovations and to contribute to the organisation’s continued growth and technical excellence.

Welcome to the team, Catherine!

19/08/2026

When it comes to developing an RPAS capability, choosing the right platform can be just as important as the training itself.

Many providers focus on specific manufacturers or equipment. At Eagle Eye Innovations, we take a different approach.

Our system-agnostic model means our advice and training are driven by operational requirements, not hardware sales.

This allows organisations to make informed decisions based on mission objectives, budget, operational environments, and long-term capability needs rather than being limited to a single manufacturer's ecosystem.

Whether you're operating DJI, DeltaQuad, SwellPro, Autel, Ucandrone or defence-grade systems, our focus remains the same: helping you achieve safe, compliant, and effective operational outcomes.

Independence delivers objectivity.

Objectivity delivers better decisions.

Over the past 2 weeks we were proud to host the 2026 The Air League Drone Scholars to our Centre of Excellence in Lincoln.

Over the course of the programme, scholars gained hands-on flying experience, developed their understanding of RPAS operations, and worked towards an industry-recognised qualification under the guidance of our experienced instructors.

For us, this partnership with The Air League is about much more than training. It's about creating opportunities, breaking down barriers to entry, and helping talented individuals take their first steps into a rapidly growing sector.

One of the highlights of the week was seeing scholars put their knowledge into practice through practical flight activities, giving them valuable real-world experience and insight into the exciting possibilities within the drone industry.

A huge congratulations to everyone who completed the programme this week. Your enthusiasm, commitment and professionalism have been outstanding.

Thank you to The Air League for continuing to make these opportunities possible.
