A huge well done to our incredible Stars of the Year, who have consistently demonstrated our school values of Unity, Enjoyment, Ambition, Resilience, and Respect throughout the year. You have been fantastic role models, and we are so proud of everything you have achieved.

We would also like to say a big well done to every one of our children for all of their hard work, determination, and successes this year. You have all helped make our school a wonderful place to learn and grow.

Finally, we would like to thank all of our families for your continued support throughout the year. We wish you all a happy, safe, and relaxing summer break, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back refreshed for another exciting year in September!

After a very busy year of PE and sport, we were delighted to celebrate our end-of-year Sports Awards. We recognised this year's school sports teams, values award winners and year group award recipients. These awards are based on attitude in lessons and clubs, performances, staff feedback and attendance. Congratulations to all the children who received an award. We are incredibly proud of every child and thank them for their hard work and commitment throughout the year. We look forward to building on another fantastic year as we continue to develop PE and sport across our school and community.

Last week, we celebrated the fantastic achievements of our Year 5 and Year 6 Girls' and Year 6 Boys' football teams after their recent league-winning success. We welcomed families and friends to join us as each child received their league winners' medals. It was a brilliant turnout and a wonderful occasion. Congratulations to all the children on winning their football leagues once again. We are incredibly proud of everyone who played and represented our Academy. They have been outstanding role models and a real inspiration to children across the school.

What a fantastic Y5/6 performance of Pirates of the Curry Bean this week. It was wonderful to see so many children come out of their shells and truly shine. From our talented Year 6 cast to our brilliant Year 5 singers and fantastic tech team, everyone played their part in making the show such a success.

We took a mixed Year 5 and Year 6 Boys Cricket Team to Woodhall Spa to compete in the Lincolnshire Cricket County Finals. Team Witham played some amazing cricket throughout the event. They demonstrated enjoyment, resilience and unity during the competition, and represented the Academy superbly. Finishing 5th out of 8 schools is a great effort, as they played against some brilliant schools across the county. Well done to all the children! We are so proud of you.

On Monday afternoon, our Year 5 Boys Football Team travelled to Birchwood Junior School to play their final friendly match of the season. All the children who played were excellent! Team Witham demonstrated enjoyment, unity, and respect throughout the match and were a pleasure to watch. Finishing the year with a win and a clean sheet was the perfect way to round off their friendly fixtures. Well done to all the children who played – we are so proud of you!

A huge well done to our Drum Corps After School Club, who treated parents, staff and children to a brilliant performance this afternoon. It was wonderful to see the confidence, teamwork and dedication the children have developed throughout the year, and they certainly entertained us all!

Our Drum Corps is just one of the many exciting opportunities available through our Enrichment Programme. We're delighted to let families know that our new Enrichment Programme for September will be shared later this week, giving parents and children plenty of time over the summer to explore the wide range of clubs on offer before choosing their favourites.

Our fantastic Wellbeing Champions have been busy supporting Mrs Hall with our Library Transition Drop-In Sessions. These sessions give children the opportunity to chat about moving into their new year group, ask any questions they may have and talk through any worries in a calm and supportive environment. The Wellbeing Champions have shown kindness, empathy and confidence throughout, making a real difference to their peers. We’re incredibly proud of them and are looking forward to the next sessions.

On Thursday afternoon, our Year 5/6 girls' team and Year 6 boys' team travelled to NK Academy to compete in the Lincolnshire Primary Schools Football League Finals.

Our girls had already achieved something very special by winning their league and qualifying for the county finals for the first time. They competed brilliantly against some outstanding teams from across Lincolnshire, earning valuable points across their five matches. Every player represented Team Witham with pride, determination and resilience, playing with smiles on their faces throughout. Reaching the county finals is a fantastic achievement, and every one of the girls should be incredibly proud. Well done, girls!

Our boys also arrived as league champions and continued their outstanding form, winning three of their four group games and drawing the other to reach the final. They then faced Manor Farm Academy in a competitive and exciting final, producing an excellent team performance to win 2-0 and become Lincolnshire Primary Schools Football League Champions! An incredible achievement, with every player playing their part on the journey. Well done, boys!

Both teams represented our Academy brilliantly, supporting one another, playing excellent football and demonstrating our Academy values throughout the day. We couldn't be prouder of you all!
