We were delighted to welcome our new Year 7 students with a special Celebration of the Word in our outdoor chapel. As part of their first morning at SSPP, our Lay Chaplain introduced this term's diocesan theme, 'Encounter', encouraging students to embrace new friendships, experiences, and opportunities. The celebration highlighted the message that every student is welcomed, valued, and precious in the eyes of God as they begin their journey with us.

A Level / Level 3 Results 2026

St Peter and St Paul Catholic Voluntary Academy, is celebrating the achievements of its students following the publication of this year’s A-level and Level 3 results. Students have secured places at a wide range of universities, training programmes and employment opportunities, including University of Durham, Lincoln University, University of York as well as employment schemes at a number of local providers. A range of courses have been chosen including STEM subjects, primary teaching, law, nursing and bio medical science.

Lourdes Pilgrimage 2026

Eight students joined Mrs Levey and Mrs McNulty on the Nottingham Diocesan Lourdes Pilgrimage 2026. The purpose of the pilgrimage was for SSPP students to support the assisted pilgrims in Lourdes through acts of service, compassion and companionship. During the pilgrimage, students participated in a variety of faith-filled activities, including the Marian Procession, Stations of the Cross, Eucharistic Processions, Grotto Mass, Reconciliation Services and daily prayers.

The students also had the opportunity to support assisted pilgrims by helping with wheelchairs and offering practical assistance throughout the week, ensuring everyone could fully participate in the events and celebrations. Through prayer, service and reflection, the pilgrimage provided a deeply meaningful experience, helping students to grow in faith, compassion and understanding while deepening their appreciation of Lourdes as a place of healing, hope and community.

On Tuesday 30th June, Year 10 Geography students had a fantastic day carrying out coastal fieldwork, investigating how waves shape our coastline and exploring the effectiveness of sea defences. Using a range of geographical techniques, students collected data, measured beach profiles and observed coastal features, developing valuable fieldwork skills to support their GCSE studies.

Well done to all involved for their enthusiasm, teamwork and excellent conduct throughout the day! 🌊📚👏
