Digby Village Pre School Digby Village Pre School has been operating for many years and re-registered in 2006 when it moved to its current location. Charity Number 1032999

It is a not-for-profit organisation and a registered charity. Operating from Digby Church of England Primary School premises, it uses a classroom within the school whilst also having access to the various school facilities including the hall and outside play areas. The location of the Pre School within the Primary School is an ideal stepping stone in preparing children for starting full time education. As to be expected, our relationship with Digby C of E Primary School is very close. The Pre School is managed by a volunteer committee, but employs experienced child care professionals to undertake the daily running of the facility. As a not-for-profit organisation, all fees and funding received, goes directly to pay all the regular business outgoings. Any ‘profit’ thereafter is channelled straight back into the Pre School to pay for replacing equipment, toys etc. The Pre School is run in accordance with Ofsted regulations and conforms to the Early Years Foundation practices. Toilet Training - We totally understand that not all children attending our setting will be fully toilet trained. Children in nappies are welcome at our Pre School with toilet training fully supported by our staff when parents decide to take that all important step.

🐄🧈 From Cow to Toast! 🧈🐄

Following on from our Book of the Week and yesterday’s fun activity milking cows, today we’ve been busy making our very own butter! 🥛

The children took turns shaking the jug, passing it to their friends when their arms started to ache — teamwork was definitely needed! 😂💪

Once our butter was ready, we spread it onto some yummy toast and enjoyed eating our very own homemade butter for snack. 🍞🧈

What a fun (and delicious!) way to continue our learning about where our food comes from! 🌱🐄

🐄🐐🐓🐖 Farmyard Fun at Preschool! 🐖🐓🐐🐄

Today we have been enjoying our Book of the Week – “Farmyard Hullabaloo”! 📚🌾

We had lots of fun developing our fine motor skills as we used our imaginations to pretend we were milking a cow! 🥛🐄 We all really enjoyed having a go and getting into the farmyard spirit! 🤍

We also played a fun farm animal sound game! 🐷🐔🐮🐑 We listened carefully to different animal sounds and had to use our listening skills to identify which farm animal we could hear. 👂✨

It was a fun-filled day of storytelling, imaginative play, listening, and learning!🐄🐐🐓🐖

🐾🌳 The Gruffalo Granny! 🌳🐾

This week, the children have shown a big interest in the new Julia Donaldson book, “The Gruffalo Granny”! 📖💚

Following their interest, we have been getting creative and making our very own Gruffalo Granny playdough figures. We’ve also had lots of fun making our very own Gruffalo Granny stew 🥣🐾 and, of course, enjoying plenty of story time with this lovely new book!

The children have been busy talking about the characters, exploring the story and using their imaginations through our activities. 💭✨

And there’s more to come… next week we’re planning to make Gruffalo Granny stew for the children to taste! 👩‍🍳🥣 We can’t wait to see what they think! 😋

What a lovely week of stories, creativity and messy play! 💚🌿

🌲 Our first Forest School session of the term was a huge success! 🍃
The children were so excited to head back out into nature today. We kicked off our session by chatting all about our Forest School rules so everyone knows how to explore and play safely.
After that, the adventure began! The children loved exploring the outdoors and hunting for special natural treasures—from shiny acorns and colorful leaves to unique twigs. Everyone filled their very own treasure box to take home.
Ask your little explorers about their favorite find today! 🪵🍂✨

What a BEARY lovely day! 🐻🥪🎒

Our preschoolers made their own sandwiches, packed their bags and headed off with their favourite bears to find the perfect picnic spot! 🌳☀️

We enjoyed a yummy lunch🥪, lots of giggles and plenty of teddy cuddles! 🧸❤️
