So….today was my last official day of teaching at my studio! It’s been a long time coming and a big change but after 14 years full time here and in schools I’m not continuing to teach, although I’ll always be a teacher😊It’s literally been my calling, my living, my passion and it’s been an incredible journey. Teaching and gigging and somehow making a living at it was my goal since 2001 and I’m proud and grateful of where i am today after all the hard work, trials, tribulations and ups and downs that go hand in hand with pursuing something that you love unconditionally but has no guarantees.
Thanks anyone who’s supported me to every single student over the years, I really feel blessed and I hope I’ve passed on some of my enthusiasm, knowledge, concepts and the fundamental desire to be your best no matter what level your are at . As anyone who’s spent time studying any art or instrument will know, the development and awareness of the player is as important as the technique and with that in mind I felt I’d personally gone as far as I could and that I achieved everything I set out to do. Ironically I’ve had more enquiries and new students over the last 12 months than before lockdown and that makes me smile but reminds me things come to you when you truly let go!
I’m still playing music live so maybe catch you at the next gig. Until then….
Thanks for the memories…it’s been emotional
Much love
