Last week at kids club we celebrated the end of term, the school year and started off our Summer Holiday Club. Our theme was Fairytales and we made crowns with Becky, Fairy wands with Hayley, created princes towers with Keira and finally we have made edible fairy wants with Maddy.
Louise has also been teaching some children how to play Lorcana (think pokemon cards, but Disney).
We also awarded prizes for our world cup sweep stake for 1st 2nd and 3rd place. A football for each winner plus sweets for first prize!

We’ve kicked off the summer how we mean to go on, BUSY. It will be very difficult for us to make last minute bookings at this stage due to hitting capacity for a lot of summer, and if you have made bookings, we will not be able to make changes to existing bookings at this point unfortunately.

The Theme this week is Nature and we have lots planned!

Snacks next week will be:
Cheese Pizza with peppers
Malt loaf and Banana Loaf with carrots
Tuna or cheese brioche rolls with cucumbers
Egg noodles with sweet chilli sauce and peppers
Blueberry and vanilla or lightly salted rice cakes

It’s been another warm week here at RAF Waddington OOSC. The building has been a lot cooler than the previous heat burst! This week’s theme has been Space. We made paper plate planets with Becky, Galaxy pictures with Keira and Tissue paper Comets with Hayley.

There has been plenty of outside play this week. We made sure the children had regular hydration breaks and stayed in the shade as much as possible. We played a game of Kubb game which is a low activity bowling kind of game. We also had the water tray out and this may have accidently turned into a water fight with Louise and Jane vs the Children on Thursday! It definitely worked to cool us down.

Our Helpers next week are Robyn for Eco Warrior, for Thalia Snack Helper and Chase for Friendship Helper.

The Theme next week will be Football.

Snacks next week will be:
Tuna Mayo and Cheese wraps with Cucumber
Homemade Pancakes with strawberries and bananas
Fish Fingers and Bread with Tomato Sauce
Bagels and cream cheese with Cucumbers and Carrots
Breadsticks with Cream cheese and cucumbers.

Important updates: As the school has plenty of end of term events, just a quick reminder for parents to let us know before hand if you are picking up your children. Thanks!

Our holiday club is getting full quickly. One day has already hit capacity (we are looking at staffing to hopefully extend the amount of children we can take).

If you haven't already get your forms in quickly as we can't guarentee we will get the staff in for every day that fills up and we need to know ASAP so that we can ask our wonderful bank staff members if they can help us out in the holidays more than they already are.

It’s been a bit of an all over the place couple of weeks here at OOSC. Lets start with last week where the theme was Gardening. We started the week off making windmills with Becky. Then we spent the rest of the week with table top activities, room moves and some afternoon closures to try our best to stay cool from the heat we had! Thank you again for everyone’s support during that time. This week the Theme has been Vehicles, We’ve made roads signs, track tyres through paint and done some themed colouring.

There has been plenty of outside play this week. We also had some preschool children who are joining us in September come and visit on Wednesday. They got to experience our snack times and had the opportunity to do some playing both inside and outside.

In the craziness of last week there was no Kind Heart.

Our Helpers next week are Cleo for Eco Warrior, for Jake Snack Helper and Hannah for Friendship Helper.

Snacks next week will be:
Pitta strips with Hummus and Tomatoes
Fruit Salad and Yoghurt
Crumpets with Ham, peppers and carrots
Croissants with Ham, cheese, and peppers
Crackers with cream cheese and peppers

Important updates!!!!: Holiday club bookings are coming in fast and spaces are filling up, so if you know you need us over the summer then get your booking forms in quickly. This also means that once forms are in there will be little that we can do with regards to making changes so make sure you are sure on the dates you are booking for your children.

Dear parents.

Firstly, thank you for being able to sort alternative care this afternoon, which meant we could keep children and staff safe this afternoon.

Tomorrow morning, we will be in the carswell Club again.

After this the staff will be moving back to the Pip Beck centre. We will record the temperature of our room and make a decision about the afternoon from there.

At the least, we will likely be asking for pick up if you can or come as early as possible as it is due to be hotter tomorrow and reduced staff needed means keeping the vulnerable safe.

For those who have asked about refunds for the closure, this is something we will look at and sort next week.

Again, thank you for all your support and understanding.

Kind regards
The OOSC team.
