We were delighted to take some of our Year 10 Engineering students to celebrate International Women in Engineering Day at Siemens Energy.

The day included:
• A tour of the Siemens Energy facility
• Learning more about Siemens Energy and the work they do
• Inspiring sessions on Women in Engineering
• Exploring career opportunities at Siemens Energy

One highlight of the day was the team competition to build a structure using straws and marshmallows — and we’re proud to say that the Lincoln UTC team took the win!

It was a fantastic day all round, celebrating innovation, engineering, teamwork, and the opportunities available for the next generation of engineers. Well done to all students involved for representing the school so brilliantly.

What a fantastic couple of days at the Lincolnshire Show!

Not only did we have a brilliant time on our stand meeting so many prospective students and families and talking all things Lincoln UTC, but we also had the opportunity to take part in the LAS Schools Challenge once again which was on climate leaders of the future.

We are incredibly proud to share that this year we achieved 2nd place

A huge well done to everyone involved — your hard work, teamwork and enthusiasm truly paid off. Thank you to everyone who came to visit us; it was wonderful to meet so many future UTC students and share what makes our community so special.

We’re already looking forward to next year!

We were incredibly proud to hear about Lincoln UTC Student Camilla’s recent visit to Grimsby Horizon Youth Zone, where she had the fantastic opportunity to meet King Charles III while representing the Army Cadet Force.

During the visit, His Majesty was shown the inspiring work being delivered at the centre and the positive impact it is having on young people in the local community.

This was an amazing opportunity and a memorable experience that recognised Camilla’s commitment and involvement through the Army Cadet Force.

This week, students from Lincoln UTC had the fantastic opportunity to attend the Be Inspired Medicine Day at the University of Lincoln.

The day gave students a valuable insight into careers within medicine and healthcare, allowing them to explore the many pathways available within the sector. Through interactive sessions and experiences led by professionals and university staff, students developed a greater understanding of the skills, knowledge, and dedication needed to pursue a career in medicine.

Last week, our Year 10 students took part in an incredible week of work experience, gaining valuable insight into the world of work and exploring future career opportunities across a range of industries.

Experiences like these are a key part of our education, giving students the opportunity to apply classroom learning in real workplace environments, develop professional skills, and build confidence for their future pathways.

At Lincoln UTC, our close links with industry play an essential role in helping students understand how science, technology, engineering and mathematics are used every day and the exciting opportunities available to them beyond school.

A huge thank you to all of the employers and industry partners who supported our students this week and helped make the experience so valuable.

Today our students had an amazing opportunity to visit Coventry University and experience life as future engineers!

The day included exciting taster sessions delivered by the university’s engineering academics, giving students hands-on insight into both Aerospace Engineering and Mechanical Engineering.

Across the sessions, students explored real-world engineering concepts, discovered future study pathways, and experienced what university learning is all about.

A huge thank you to Coventry University for hosting us and creating such an engaging and inspiring day. Our students had a fantastic time and came away full of enthusiasm and ideas for the future!

Croft marked our second race event of 2026 — and what a day it was! 🏎️⚡

From the very first starting flag to the final chequered finish, the team delivered another incredible performance filled with determination, teamwork, and resilience.

Following damage to the nosecone and steering column during the previous race, the team faced a huge challenge to get both cars repaired and race-ready in time for Croft. With tight turnaround times and plenty of pressure, everyone pulled together to make it happen — and the hard work certainly paid off.

Race One saw both teams start strongly, using everything learned from practice to deliver an outstanding performance:

🥇 The Angel — 1st Place
🥈 The Imp — 2nd Place

Race Two brought more fantastic racing, excellent pit work, and confident driving:

🏅 The Imp — 4th Place

Our Sixth Form drivers stepped up once again, pushing hard throughout the race
and gaining positions with skill and consistency:

Chess is more than just a game

Every move teaches patience, strategy, focus, and resilience. Our students are developing critical thinking skills, learning how to plan ahead, solve problems, and think creatively — all while enjoying friendly competition.

From opening moves to checkmate, chess encourages confidence, concentration, and sportsmanship both in and out of the classroom.

What an incredible term it has been!

Our students have achieved so much over the past few months, showing creativity, determination, teamwork, and ambition every step of the way.

This term we have:
🏆 Entered — and won — a robotics competition in London
🏎️ Attended two Greenpower events with fantastic results
🎉 Officially launched our exciting new apprenticeship programme
📚 Supported our students as they began their GCSEs
🧱 Taken part in brilliant LEGO events and challenges
🎥 Created documentaries showcasing student creativity and technical skills
🏭 Visited Rototek to learn about rotational plastic moulding and engineering careers
💧 Spent two inspiring days with Anglian Water exploring technical and industry skills
⛪ Visited the cathedral as part of our stunning stained glass project

We are so proud of everything our students have achieved this term and can’t wait to see what next term brings!
