Lincoln UTC provides a unique opportunity for students aged 14-19 to study innovative technical subjects alongside the core curriculum. From CAD to the Racetrack!

A huge well done to Ryle Bentley and Harry Sadler, who proudly showcase the miniature Formula 1 car they designed, built and raced as part of our STEM Racing Project!

This exciting, hands-on project brings engineering theory to life, reinforcing key concepts from our Cambridge National Engineering modules.

In just three weeks, our newest students have already mastered industry-standard CAD software, transforming their own ideas into real designs!

We’re incredibly proud of their enthusiasm, creativity and developing engineering skills. The future of engineering is looking fast!

Calling all aspiring poets! Explore the power of words with Tower Poetry...

Could you turn an idea into a poem and win a prize of up to £5,000?

The Christopher Tower Poetry Competition 2027, run by Christ Church, University of Oxford, is now open! This year's theme is ‘The Deep’ — an opportunity to explore everything from the mysteries of the ocean and the depths of space to hidden thoughts, dreams and the imagination.

Students aged 16–18 who are in secondary education in the UK.

What's up for grabs?
£5,000 for first place
£3,000 for second place
£1,500 for third place

Ten runners-up will each receive £500, and the top three winners will also be offered a place at the Tower Poetry Summer School.

Deadline: 12 noon on Thursday 18 February 2027.

Whether you already love writing poetry or simply have a creative idea you'd like to explore, this is a fantastic opportunity to challenge yourself and share your voice.

Students in Y11, Y12 and Y3 are invited to join us this Monday for a lunchtime careers talk!

We’re delighted to welcome Claire Kent, a Senior Hydrogeologist at Klohn Crippen Berger, who will be sharing insights into her career and the exciting work she does in the mining and resources sector in Perth, Western Australia.

Claire studied Geography and Geology at undergraduate level before completing a Master’s in Hydrogeology at the University of Birmingham. Her work includes field-based assessments, supporting tailings dam design and operations, and finding water supplies for mining exploration.

Over the last few days, all of our Year 10 students have had the fantastic opportunity to visit the Siemens training facility at the University of Lincoln.

During their visit, students were introduced to Siemens turbines and learned about the processes involved in their design, production and operation. They gained an insight into how the turbines work and the range of skills and careers involved within the engineering industry.

Students also had the opportunity to learn more about apprenticeships with Siemens and were encouraged to register their interest in work experience opportunities with the company.

It was a valuable experience for our Year 10 students, giving them a real insight into engineering careers and the opportunities available to them in the future.

As part of Make UK’s Engineering & Manufacturing Week, students from Lincoln UTC had the fantastic opportunity to visit Micrometric Ltd and get a behind-the-scenes look at some of the incredible technology used within modern manufacturing.

Lincoln UTC has built a fantastic working relationship with Micrometric, and it was particularly great to see several of our alumni, who are now part of the Micrometric team, helping to lead the tour and share their experience with our current students.

The visit gave students the chance to see some amazing laser cutting technologies and techniques in action, while also providing a valuable insight into the career opportunities available within engineering and advanced manufacturing.

A huge thank you to the team at Micrometric Ltd for welcoming us, sharing your expertise and continuing to support the development of the next generation of engineers.

We look forward to continuing our partnership and working together in the future!

Yesterday, we held our Annual Careers Fair at Lincoln UTC, welcoming a fantastic range of universities, higher education providers, STEM industries and the Armed Forces to speak with our students about the wide range of career opportunities available to them.

The event was hugely successful, as always, with our students having the opportunity to meet industry professionals, ask questions, explore different career pathways and gain valuable insight into life beyond the UTC.

A massive thank you to all of the businesses, organisations, universities and representatives who took the time to join us and engage with our students. Your support and commitment to inspiring the next generation is hugely appreciated.

Events like this are a brilliant way for our students to make connections, discover new possibilities and start thinking about where their skills and interests could take them in the future.
