🦈PLAY IDEAS FOR SHARK WEEK 2026 🦈
If you’re celebrating Shark Week next week (26th July-1st August) then these are for you, or if you just have a mini shark lover at home….
1 Shark facts sensory puzzle- Make a cardboard shark or print a picture out if you’d rather, then add different shark related questions and answers and some shark anatomy labels.
2. Shark bean bag toss! A great one for fun outside, a little more work as you need to make the shark box, but this could be fun for your kids to help with too!
3. Shark sensory play tray - add your favourite sensory base and some shark figures, with scoops, bowls etc
4. Build a shark sensory play dough - pop out the dough with google eyes, beads, buttons, lolly sticks etc and some printable shark pictures or their favourite book and wait to see what they create!
5. Pop up shark craft - makes a great birthday card and is a super easy pop up to make.
6. Shark phonics play tray - pour out your favourite sensory base - we used dyed rice- and then add letters, words etc to match your child’s phonics stage. ( we had missing letters from ccvc or cvcc words)
7. One of my favourite sensory play dough play trays - make a dough shark and add teeth using beans/beads etc and then provide tongs or tweezers for removing or adding teeth. You could add a dice or two to work in some maths skills too!
If you’re new here, hi 👋🏼 I’m Darryl and I love setting up easy crafts and activities to keep my kids busy over the holidays and to inspire you too. 👱🏻♀️
