For our August Quote of the Month, we are sharing feedback from one of our Autism Music People (A.M.P) participants in Horncastle.

The A.M.P project provides free music workshops inclusively designed to support the mental health and wellbeing of autistic participants. Through participant-led, accessible music-making, the project offers a welcoming environment where individuals can explore creativity at their own pace, learn new skills, and connect with others.

FUNDING ANNOUNCEMENT

We are delighted to share that SoundLincs has received funding from BBC Children in Need to support our upcoming Children & Young People's Social Prescription Service.

Music has a unique ability to support emotional wellbeing, build self-esteem, and offer young people a creative, non-judgmental space to express themselves. This vital funding will enable us to roll out a tailored, music-based social prescribing model designed specifically for children and young people across Lincolnshire.

By using music-making as an early intervention tool, the project aims to help young people navigate mental health challenges, isolation, and difficult life transitions before reaching crisis point.

A huge thank you to BBC Children in Need for supporting our work and helping us expand creative health opportunities for young people in our community.

We are currently working behind the scenes to prepare for delivery. Keep an eye on our page over the coming months for updates and further details on how to access or refer to the service.

Our music facilitator Santino guiding a group through the fundamentals of DJing at Lincoln City Foundation, exploring live mixing, and watching everyone build confidence behind the decks.

Providing young people with hands-on access to music technology. A massive well done to all the participants who got involved!

FUNDING ANNOUNCEMENT

We are incredibly grateful to the for awarding SoundLincs £7,000 to purchase new musical instruments and equipment.

Our instruments are at the heart of almost every project we deliver. With thousands of participants taking part in our sessions each year, our equipment experiences significant wear and tear, so this funding will help us replace ageing instruments, expand our resources and continue providing high-quality, accessible music-making opportunities for people of all ages and abilities.

This investment will support delivery across our growing portfolio of projects, including our new Children and Young People's Social Prescription Service and MusiCare programmes, helping more people experience the benefits of making music together.

Thank you to the for supporting our work and helping us continue to create opportunities for connection, creativity and wellbeing through music.
