Another brilliant Gousto cookery session at Alt-Ed Lincs today 👩‍🍳💚💜

Today our learners made Southern-Style Chicken with Sweet Potato Mash & Gravy 🍽️
Lots of teamwork, independence and proud faces all round 👏

First day of our Gousto cooking lessons and what a success! 👏🍽️

Our learners absolutely smashed it—producing some genuinely restaurant-quality dishes (just look at that plate! 😍). Even more impressive, some of them gave new foods a go, which we know can be a big step, especially for our SEN learners.

We’re so proud of the effort, teamwork, and confidence shown today. This is exactly what these sessions are all about—building skills, trying new things, and having a bit of fun along the way 💪✨

🎬 Learners are putting their media theory into practice this week by creating film trailers using action figures.

Using printed location backdrops and experimenting with camera angles, framing and movement, they’re turning theory into hands-on filmmaking.

Some brilliant creativity so far – we can’t wait to see the finished trailers!

Today’s hands-on life skills session 🧰✨

Learners took apart a vacuum cleaner to remove and clean the filters, empty the dust container, and take out the rollers to clear built-up hair and debris.

Real-world skills. Building independence. And yes… there was a LOT of ‘Phil Fur’ in there 😅

After developing their skills through our Food Wise and food-focused life skills sessions, learners had the opportunity to complete a recognised Food Hygiene Certificate — and so far we have a 100% pass rate! 🌟

A brilliant achievement and a fantastic step towards independence, confidence and future employment. Well done everyone — you’ve smashed it!
