🍕 Hawaiian pizzas 🍕

Today the baby room made some pizzas, we used Naan bread as the base & they spread their own tomato paste on them, which they did really well! And we let them sprinkle their own toppings on the top!

And yes Pineapple does belong on pizza 🙈

We think they looked great!

And we hope the children enjoyed them once they got home 🥰

🤎 MUD KITCHEN 🤎

Making nature pizzas 🍕

The children of all ages are really enjoying the mud kitchen at the moment 🤎

We decided to make nature pizzas, this encouraged the children to scoop & spread the mud & make a choice of the toppings they wanted to use.

We spoke about what we was putting on our nature pizza and what we like to have on a pizza at home.

One of the under two's said "spread, spread, spread" as they spread the mud on the board.

And a conversation with one of the 3 year olds:-
A- 'What sauce are you putting on your pizza?'
C- "I dont know"
A- 'it could be tomato puree or barbecue'
C- "barbecue"
Child starts to put mint leaves on the pizza.
A- 'oooo what else could you put on your pizza?'
C- "Chicken Nuggets"
Carries on putting toppings on his nature pizza.
C- "I'm making pizza for my mummy & daddy"

Lots of language can be used during imaginative play & being outside makes it even better 🥰

✨️ THREADING ✨️

A simple activity you could do at home with items from your cupboard.

All you need is dried spaghetti & some hooped cereal!

This is great for hand-eye co-ordination skills.

🩵 WATER PLAY 🩵

The children all had lots of fun outside today, they used jugs and coloured water to pour down clear drain pipes. This supports them with their hand eye co-ordination & is also lots of fun too.

THE GRUFFLO

The pre-school room children enjoyed listening to the grufflo story today whilst in the playdough. They then created their own forests using flowers, and little trees.

We forgot to share these last week.

Last Tuesday the babies made themselves some sandwiches, they did really well spreading the spread and assembling their own sandwich 🥰

🪥 SUPERVISED TOOTHBRUSHING 🪥

🪥Yesterday Kirsta came in to tall to the children anout brushing their teeth, how to do it & foods that are good for your teeth & foods that are not so good.

🪥We also started our supervised toothbrushing for children age 3 and over and they did really well.

🪥We had our second day today brushing our teeth and the children was fantastic.

🪥We are using the hey duggee toothbrushing song which I will link below, the children seem to be enjoying this song and it might be good to use at home if you don't use one already.
