We’re excited to announce that, in partnership with Lincolnshire County Council, we’ve scheduled two “Cycling in Lincoln” workshop sessions for Thursday 12 March for our staff members and students.
These will be interactive sessions exploring the key barriers to cycling in the city.
Together, we’ll look at opportunities to enhance existing cycle routes, identify potential locations for new cycle storage, and discuss how to make cycling safer and more accessible for everyone.
You’ll also have the chance to speak directly with the LCC Active Travel Officer, ask questions, and share your ideas for improving cycling provision on campus.
You can choose between:
11:00–12:30 and 13:00–14:30
Each workshop will run for 1.5 hours, with the option to leave after the first hour if needed, and will be held in the Minerva Building on the Brayford Campus.
If you’d like to be involved with this project, you can book onto one of the workshops here: lncn.ac/CycleWork
Spaces are limited, so booking is essential.

Using UV torches, you'll be guided around the campus looking for species that come alive with vibrant hues of green, blue, red, purple and orange. Join us to learn more about this unique and mysterious phenomenon and how it might be used to study elusive species.
Beyond the visible light spectrum, which is the part that the human eye can see, is a glowing ultraviolet world normally only seen by creatures with specialised eyes. This is known as biofluorescence, and it occurs when certain organisms emit light in different colours than the ones they absorb. From camouflage and pollination to reproduction and protection, scientists are only just beginning to understand its purpose.

Calling all University Staff and Students – help us calculate our travel carbon emissions and form the next Sustainable Travel Plan by completing the 2025 Travel Survey: https://lncn.ac/TS2025
This survey reinforces the University’s commitment to sustainability and carbon accountability. It plays a vital role in tracking Scope 3 carbon emissions—those generated indirectly through staff and student travel—and fulfils reporting requirements set by the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA).
All Staff and students are encouraged to complete the survey. Every response contributes to a more sustainable future for the University community.
Everyone who completes the survey has the chance to enter our prize draw to win one of three sets of a bicycle lock and lights.
