Today was our first ‘DREAM Assembly’ of the year. It was Year Two children’s turn to be celebrated this week. We got to hear how the children chosen for a DREAM certificate have been making a difference to our school every day by showing our school values:
Dusty the Dog - Determination
Ruffles the Rabbit - Responsibility
Echo the Emu - Empathy
Akira the Anteater - Aspiration
Marmalade the Mole - Making A Difference
It was a joy to have so many parents/carers join us in celebrating too. Thank you for coming!

If you are a parent/carer of a child using Roblox, Discord or TikTok then you need to know what ‘the com‘ and/or ‘764’ is.

The UK National Crime Agency has issued a warning that children are particularly at risk from this at the moment.

‘The Com’ is a collection of online communities which see violence as entertainment. They seek to engage others (including children and teenagers) into performing violent actions.

The ‘764’ is a break off network from ‘The Com’ made up of further networks who specifically target children and teenagers to coerce them into harmful actions.

This is happening on Roblox, Discord and TikTok.

The post below explains this further and has important information to enable parents/carers to keep their children safe online.

You may have noticed that over the last few months, we’ve been changing the way we share images of our children online.

As part of our ongoing commitment to safeguarding, we’re adapting how we showcase school life in response to growing concerns around the use and manipulation of children’s images, including through AI.

We’re not going to stop sharing what’s happening in school. We’re just changing the angle.

Our aim is to continue to celebrate the learning, creativity, friendships and special moments that make our school so brilliant, whilst taking every step we can to protect our children’s privacy and safety.

We just had to share this brilliant video and post from on Instagram. because we could have made it at MSA and we couldn’t have said it better ourselves! It’s not just Nursery either! They posted:

Every preschool teacher knows this scene… 😭🎬

Whether it’s the first day, after a vacation, or just getting back into the routine, tears at drop-off are completely normal. It doesn’t mean your child isn’t happy, it usually means they’re saying goodbye to someone they love.

The biggest gift you can give them is a confident goodbye and trusting the process. We’ve got the hugs, the distractions, the silly songs, and the experience to help them settle in. Before you know it, they’re asking, “Do I have to go home already?” 🥹💚

So if Netflix ever makes a documentary about preschool drop-offs… just know there’s always a very happy ending. 🍿😂

Mascot horror is an ever growing safeguarding concern, particularly on the rise in the last 2-3 years. For those parents/carers who have parental controls in place, they are still popping up on ‘safe’ apps like Kids YouTube with people taking the characters and making their own versions. Many parents/carers don’t know or understand the significance of mascot horror. This has some useful information to help raise awareness.

📚 Happy ‘National Read A Book Day’! 📚
We can’t say it better than Murphy’s Sketches in this beautiful animation of hers; reading is so much more than ‘just’ a book! It’s the memories, the feelings children associate with cuddling up to their favourite grown up and having some time together enjoying a story together.
Don’t forget we have our MSA Reading Shed stocked with books for all the family. The shed is available every day (we only keep the door closed on the latch to protect the books). Go and take a look and borrow, swap or keep a book.
