Celebrating Year 11 results at De Aston School
We are delighted to report outstanding achievements by our Year 11 students in their 2026 summer examinations, right through to the highest grade 9s. There were a lot of proud parents in school this morning to witness the excitement of the envelope opening! De Aston saw great success across the ability ranges with significant achievements being celebrated. As is the case every year, there are stories of success for those that overcame extreme hardships in their personal lives: this year is no exception. Many of our young people have gone through some very tough times and for them to come out with qualifications is a testament to their resilience and the support they received. Congratulations to Year 11 for what they have achieved on an individual level, no matter what the grades are, each achievement is to be celebrated in context. We want to pay tribute to those staff who gave up their time to run lunchtime, afterschool and Saturday sessions for both Year 11 and Year 13, providing hundreds of extra hours of teaching and intervention. Results days are all about the young people and they deserve all they have earned. We are really looking forward to seeing the majority of the year group come back to us to study at De Aston Sixth Form to continue on their seven-year journey with us in September.

Another set of photos from last week's A level results day. Headteacher Mr Porter wanted a special shout out to the parents, carers and families for all their support. Mr Porter was keen to stress, "Behind every student is a team of staff here at De Aston. However, there is an important dimension that needs special mention, that is the encouragement and backing of families. The relationship between school and parents is a significant element in the achievements of students. As I have said now for over a quarter of a century at De Aston, 'all the pieces matter'. Thank you to parents, carers and families for all they do. De Aston is often described as a 'family school' and I firmly believe that family matters in the success of our young people. Thank you for all you do!".

On what was a very warm last day of term in July, we held our annual Lower School Award ceremony. This event saw the school gathered to celebrate the achievements of their peers. Awards were presented for academic achievement, school values and attendance.

Special mention to Blake Walton Y10, who received the Headteacher's Award for Excellence as the highest achieving pupil in the recent school examinations, Special mention also to Evelyn Bartlett Y7, winner of the John Matthews Community Award. This award is in honour and memory of our former Vice Chair of Governors and Mayor of Market Rasen, who we know would have been very proud of Evelyn's community spirit. Both Evelyn and Blake are pictured receiving their awards in front of the whole school from Headteacher Simon Porter. Mr Porter gave an address to the school thanking all staff for their efforts and dedication, reminding that "all the pieces matter" and that success of a school is a team effort. Mr Porter also praised the winners across all year groups for their dedication and embodying the De Aston Values: aspiration, hard-work, resilience, responsibility and kindness.

De Aston School Press Release Year 13 results 2026

De Aston School, in Market Rasen, is pleased to report some outstanding achievements by its Year 13 students in their A levels and Vocational Qualifications this summer.

Multiple pupils achieved top grades across a range of courses. Subjects achieving the very highest A*/A grades included A level Maths and Further Maths, A level Photography, A level English Literature, A level Geography, A level History and Level 3 Criminology. A particular mention for Photography with an impressive five A* grades!

They truly are an outstanding set of results from an outstanding group of young people. Most of whom have spent seven years at De Aston and they now go off now to make their mark in the world at university, apprenticeships and employment.

De Aston’s Headteacher, Simon Porter commented: “Congratulations to all of our Year 13 on their results that are a reflection of their personal dedication. It is about all results for all students not just those with the highest grades and that sense of pride we have extends to the full range of achievements. Their results tell the story of their resilience and the efforts of staff who helped them through personal struggles to achieve these grades. It is important to remember that these students are more than a collection of their grades. They are all exceptional, inspiring, and talented young people in their own ways and we couldn’t be prouder of them.”
