Our 2026 Careers Fair took place on Wednesday 11th March and was a huge success!
A massive thank you to all the exhibitors who took the time to attend on the day. There were some really positive comments from our guests regarding the outstanding behaviour, particularly from our Level 2 students who hosted the day and did De Aston proud with their professional conduct and hospitality!
“Thank you for having me!
Had some lovely conversations with your students about their choices for the future 🙂
Just want to say that your 6th Form helpers were fantastic - very welcoming and super helpful!
(Especially Izzy and Daniel who helped me carry some items back to my car!)
Looking forward to working with you again soon"
"I honestly had a great day and really enjoyed engaging with the students. It really sparked an interest in me and made me enthusiastic about working with the school to highlight careers in construction. I feel quite passionate about the fact that we have an ‘ageing workforce’, and we REALLY need to be inspiring young people to join the industry."
"We had a wonderful day. Great to see so many of the students and chatting to them about what they wanted to do, even if it wasn’t horticulture.
Some real characters, everyone was so polite. If you ever have any other days or want any support with presenting careers, I have had a very varied and rewarding one and didn’t go to university"

Thursday 12th March saw Year 12 student Ella Shaw represent De Aston School and the wider Market Rasen community at the 'Safer Communities Leaders' conference in Lincoln.
Ella (pictured with Lincolnshire's Police and Crime Commissioner Marc Jones and the Deputy Police and Crime Commissioner Sara Munton) has been involved as a Safer Communities Leader for the last 6 months: attending monthly meetings and sessions. This culminated in the conference on Thursday evening attended by representatives of the Office for the Police and Crime Commissioner, partner groups, parents/carers and teachers.
Ella was part of a group that presented on the 'Street Safety' priority, making recommendations on Hollie Guard, Strut Safe and StreetSafe.

Our incredible Evelyn has already completed her New Year's resolution for 2026 by doing something charitable.
Evelyn took boxes of food donations to the local New Life Church in order to show her support.
A huge and admirable achievement for one of our Year 7 students. Congratulations Evelyn!
