This week, LCHS Sixth Form welcomed in applicants for their Intake Day. Over the past two days, there have been taster sessions, workshops, team building, ice cream and lots of smiles! It has been a pleasure getting to know some of our new cohort and we are super excited to see you in September.

Due to the extreme heat, tonight's Year 6 Intake Evening has been cancelled.

We understand this is short notice and apologise for any inconvenience. A recorded version of the presentation and key information will be shared with families as soon as possible.

18.06.2026 Personal Development Day, Year 10's.
What an amazing day yesterday was! Huge thanks to PIB Group for supporting the students with their ideas and who also formed a judging panel at the end of the day to pick the best Enterprise design! Year 10’s competed in an Enterprise Challenge where teams competed 'Dragons Den' style to create, research, and pitch a product idea. Every group did amazing and congratulations to all teams who were chosen from their from groups to present in front of not only the judges but a live feed to the rest of year 10! Overall, a fantastic and engaging day for year 10’s. Congratulations to the first-place winning group and to the runners up who all received certificates during assembly this morning.

18.06.2026 Personal Development Day - Year 9's had the topic of 'Stay Safe' with the wonderful team from Stay Safe Lincolnshire. Students had various talks and interactive workshops on Drug awareness, Knife crime, online safety, fire safety and harmful behaviours.

18.06.2026 Personal DEvelopment Day - Year 8's had the topic of 'Choices' with various talks and workshops delivered by the Prison Me No Way! team and Red cross, who had workshops on lifesaving skills. They looked at the consequences, penalties and impacts of their choices and the effects crime has on real lives.

Each student also experienced what the inside of a replica prison cell looks like in the Prison me no way van.

Yesterday student's from Years 7 - 10 took part in a full day of Personal Development activities. Almost all of which were lead by companies who joined us for the day to give an interactive and informative day of learning.

Year 7's had the topic of 'Aspects of life' where they enjoyed Teamwork activities delivered by our own PE department in the sports hall, as well as classes lead by YMCA Lincolnshire on emotional wellbeing, Anti-social behaviour and online safety. They also had the chance to build working wind turbines during an 'Environment and me' science class lead by our Science teachers!

On Tuesday, we had the local company Inzpire in to talk to our Year 10 and 12 students. They delivered an interesting talk on careers in the defence industry. This was followed by an interactive lecture introducing the audience to the art of estimation. A historical missile guidance problem was used to explore and answer key problem-solving questions. While this example focused on missiles, the message was clear: ‘problem-solving is important in any field.’ We look forward to working with Inzpire on more lectures and workshops in the future.

- A supportive wellbeing session with Nicole from Hummingbird Hypnotherapy, focusing on self-compassion and emotional wellbeing for parents and carers.

Today, Sixth Form students took a trip to University of Lincoln to experience studying pharmaceutical science. They were given the opportunity to work in the lab with a practical session, where they each had the chance to attempt the early stages of making paracetamol.

To celebrate Year 11’s time with us coming to an end, a well-deserved celebration was held this afternoon on the field with games, music and an ice cream van! As the celebration came to a close, the whole year was then applauded in a guard of honour held by LCHS staff to say congratulations, good bye and good luck as they left the school site.
