A little blue goes a long way πŸ’™

Here is our Indonesian Blue Tongue Skink (Tiliqua) called Nessie, yes after the Loch Ness monster 🀫.

Blue tongued skinks have blue tongues as a way of communicating and deterring predators. The bright blue colour is thought to be an aposematic (warning) signal, similar to the bright colours found in many venomous animals. When threatened, a blue-tongued skink will puff up its body, hiss, and stick out its bright blue tongue in an attempt to scare off the attacker. They are truely one of my favourites🦎🟦.

Showing our inner dragon πŸ‰

This is our newest arrival! Everyone meet toothless, the Chinese water dragon (Physignathus cocincinus)

The term β€œwater dragon” alludes to their strong swimming skills. If needed, these dragons can stay underwater for up to 25 minutes. They may do this if they feel threatened.

Chinese water dragons are also excellent climbers. They have strong legs and long claws that help them climb and grasp branches. They use their tails for balance as they climb. πŸŽ‹

Yes, I really do need all these Tarantulas! πŸ•·πŸ•Έ

Look at all three of these lovely Tarantulas. Here we have our Curley Hair Tarantulas (Tliltocatl albopilosus) called Mr.T. We also have a Pink Toe Tarantulas (Avicularia avicularia) called Princess. Last but not least, we have a Mexican Red Knee Tarantulas that we borrow from a friend for these shows.

We know that Tarantulas and spiders aren't the most well liked animal, they are depicted in movies and stories that they are something to be scared of. That's why we want to show these beautiful creatures to people of all ages to debunk rumors of them that scare the public. They are misunderstood creatures and are very fascinating. As you can see from the first photo, they are handleable and docile.

We plan in the future to get different kinds of Tarantulas and spiders such as jumping spiders!

Sssmiling through life, one scale at a time 🐍

Look at this handsome boy! This is Albi, our Western Hognose Snake.

The hog-nosed snake's most distinctive field mark is an upturned, hog-like snout, which is used for digging. Another fun fact is that this snake would rather dramatically play dead when threatened by a predator! πŸ‘€πŸ’€

And Everybody was Kung Fu Fighting!πŸ₯‹

While they may not have made the cast of Kung fu panda, our Mantids are still amazing! Up front is our male Dead Leaf mantis, Twiglet. Second, we have the beautiful Jasmine, our very own Orchid Mantis Female. And last up is the newest member of our ever growing team, our Devils Flower mantis, Iris! While they are pretty small now, soon they will be much bigger and ready for shows!

Mantids have two distinguishing arms at the front of their bodies called Raptors, and they can use these to attack their prey with lightning fast speed!

What a cute little girl this one is! 😍

Meet Tango, our yellow Crested Gecko (Correlophus ciliatus). This little girl loves to climb and jump around his vivarium, and is jumping with joy to meet people at our next show! 🦎🦎

These lizards actually don’t have eyelids. It may sound weird, but they actually use their long tongues to lick their eyes to keep them clean. πŸ‘…πŸ‘οΈ How bizarre!
