For International Women in Engineering Day, we’re celebrating the women who shaped the world through engineering and innovation. From Emily Roebling and Edith Clarke to Mary Jackson, Annie Easley, Radia Perlman, and Stephanie Kwolek, these pioneers broke barriers and built the foundations of modern engineering. Their work continues to inspire the next generation of girls to dream bigger, build boldly, and change the world. www.thelaat.co.uk

On 4th July, some of our LAAT Central Team and staff from William Lovell Academy will be taking on a Tough Mudder challenge in support of LAAT’s charitable fund, Love As Action – Together.

This fund helps ensure children and families get the practical support they need so that every pupil can fully access learning opportunities and take part in school life.

If you’re able to, we’d really appreciate your support in sponsoring the team and helping us continue this important work 💛 https://www.justgiving.com/campaign/laatdoestoughmudder?utm_medium=CA&utm_source=CL

We are very proud of our Love As Action - Together fund, which enables us to provide pupils in need with practical support quickly, quietly, and without judgement, so they can participate fully and confidently in school life. Every penny raised is hugely appreciated. So, thank you to each and every one of you who walked, supported, or organised!

What a fantastic way to reframe the experience for children. By turning SATs into "Secret Agent Training", you're removing the anxiety that often surrounds tests and replacing it with excitement, curiosity, and a sense of achievement.

It's a wonderful reminder that assessments are simply an opportunity for children to showcase the skills, knowledge and confidence they have developed throughout the year.

Good luck, Year 2 – your mission is already looking like a great success! 🕵️‍♂️⭐

✨ What a surprise for Year 2! ✨

Yesterday, during shared reading, our Y2 Rabbits had a very exciting moment… a letter fell right out of their book! 👀📖 (Y2 Rabbits’ eyes only… what could it be?)

The children soon discovered it was their official invitation to take part in their Y2 SATs — or as they now know it… their “Secret Agent Training!” 🕵️‍♂️📝

We are already well underway, and the children are showing fantastic enthusiasm as they demonstrate their reading, maths, grammar, punctuation and spelling skills. Another cohort of secret agents is in the making and Mrs Jackson is incredibly impressed with all their efforts so far.

Keep up the amazing work, Year 2! 💫

There's a new punditry team in town!

Jammy, Dodger and the chicken may have just become the finest football experts in the country. Their prediction skills were pretty impressive - even if the chicken were a little optimistic!!

Today on day, we want to say a huge thank you to all of the amazing teachers and support staff across LAAT.

Every day, you go Above and Beyond to inspire, nurture and support the children and young people in our schools. Igniting curiosity, building confidence, creating opportunities and helping pupils discover their potential. Your dedication extends far beyond the classroom, shaping lives and making a lasting difference to the communities we serve.

So, thank you for your passion, commitment and unwavering belief in every child. www.thelaat.co.uk

What a fantastic example of how World of Work learning bridges the gap between academic study and future careers.

This trip abroad is an incredible experience for all the students, but for the Travel and Tourism group, it offers something extra special – the opportunity to bring classroom learning to life
