University of Lincoln Business Society 2021/2022

Hello everyone,

We hope you are all keeping well and now finally enjoying the start of your amazing summer! 

The current committee is departing today, and the new ones are taking over the reins. We would just like to say a massive thank you to each and every single one of you for taking interest in our society, purchasing our membership (Resulting with over 300 members of which is the largest recorded amount in the SU and the societies history!), and coming along to the 35+ events we have hosted this academic year!  

It feels just like yesterday when myself and rest of the committee took over the society in the summer of 2021. We worked hard to rebrand the society, get as much support as possible, put a new strategic plan in place, all to give you all such an incredible year after the impact of covid-19. 

From having frequent meetings, planning events, organising everything, and contacting people to get involved, to filing out risk assessments, ensuring everyone is safe and having a great time. Running a society can be extremely stressful at times, and the success of this year would not have been possible without my amazing committee, Lincoln International Business School team/staff, LIBS Global Team, our sponsors, guest speakers, other partners and staff across the university who have worked extremely hard to support everyone to make society what it is today. 

Wishing everyone all the very best in their careers and good luck to the new committee, I'm sure they will do a smashing job!

We was unfortunately very close to disbanding 😅 . Nearly all of the roles have been filled, but there will be more opportunities later in the year to join the committee!

💙 University of Lincoln Business Society Elections for 2022/2023 💙

The society must have nominations for President, Vice-President and Treasurer, in order for the society to run next year, otherwise it will be disbanded and put up for adoption.

A complete guidebook of contacts, training, and recommendations booklet will be given on handover, to give the committee the best support for next year. The new committee can change anything they like in the society (they do not need to do as many events like we did this academic year) 

Students in 1st year, 2nd year, placement students, 3rd years (going into postgraduate studies at UoL full time) are able to nominate themselves. 

Nominations will close this Friday 13th at 5pm (This is the last chance we have to fill in the committee positions).

If a student is wanting to nominate themselves but is not a member of Bus Soc, they will just need to pay £3 for Bus Soc membership on the SU site. Then they would be able to nominate themselves on the elections link.

These awards "shine a light on the work that students, student groups, University staff and departments have done to improve the experience of students and make this year as engaging, exciting and rewarding as possible"

The Business Society Committee has worked extremely hard over the summer last year and this academic year, to give you the best that we possibly can in your student experience.

After speaking to the DoubleTree Hilton and the Lincoln SU today, we are pleased to announce that the Business Society End of year ball tickets is open again!

We are pleased to announce that the Business Society Ball tickets are now live to purchase from the Lincoln SU website (This can be done by clicking on our linktree, or links in this email), and that the ball is being hosted at the Double Tree Hilton Hotel on May 3rd! Once you have purchased your ticket, please send us an email, or check the links below where you can add your food and seating choice

Tickets are £30 for all members, non member’s, university staff and public

Dress code: Black tie (Formal)

This includes a three-course meal (food options can be entered into our XL spreadsheet after purchasing your ticket), a DJ, and a photographer!

This event is being held at the DoubleTree Hilton Hotel, Brayford Wharf, Lincoln, LN1 1YW. Doors open at 7pm, with the event to finish around 11.30pm

We have 200 tickets and 20 tables available, so you can select who you would like to sit with.
