What a fantastic evening at the FE Excellence Awards .

A real standout moment was seeing our Skills for Life & Work student, Ethan Doherty, receive such well-deserved recognition. We are incredibly proud of Ethan. His journey, commitment and resilience truly capture the spirit of FE — proving what’s possible when determination meets opportunity.

It’s been a genuine privilege to watch his growth and to play a small part in his journey. ⭐👏

Delighted to attend the FE Excellence Awards tonight.. A real highlight was seeing our Skills for Life & Work student, Ethan Doherty, recognised. I couldn’t be prouder of Ethan — his commitment, growth and determination truly reflect what FE is all about. He is a fantastic example of what can be achieved when opportunity meets hard work, and it’s been a privilege to have been part of his journey. So very proud of our students ..
WorldSkills isn’t just about medals — it’s about standards, aspiration, and opportunity.

Apprentices brush off the competition with awards in Painting and Decorating and Tiling!🏆🏅

Well done to our three students who collected awards at the SkillBuild NI Regional Qualifier hosted this week at Southern Regional College.

They placed:
Painting and Decorating
- 1st Robin Ward - NWRC Springtown campus
- 2nd Daniel McDaid – NWRC Springtown campus
Wall & Floor Tiling
-2nd Jack Rogers – NWRC Greystone campus

Now they will prepare to represent Northern Ireland in the SkillBuild UK National Finals in November!

Digital Detox for a Powerful Cause 🌿

We are incredibly proud of our Skills for Life & Work students at Greystone Campus, North West Regional College (NWRC) who recently took part in a Digital Detox challenge—stepping away from screens to reconnect with what really matters.

They successfully raised £340 in support of LIPS (Limavady Initiative for the Prevention of Suicide)—an organisation doing vital work in our community to support those affected by su***de and promote mental health awareness.

This initiative was about more than fundraising. It was about:
✔️ Building resilience
✔️ Encouraging meaningful connections
✔️ Raising awareness of mental health and wellbeing
✔️ Supporting life-saving local services

Let’s continue to have open conversations, support one another, and recognise the importance of initiatives like LIPS in saving lives. 💚

Delighted to meet Noel from Foyle Hospice today to present a donation of £340—raised through a Digital Detox initiative led by our Skills for Life and Work students at Greystone Campus.

This inspiring effort highlights not only the generosity of our learners, but also their commitment to wellbeing, community engagement, and making a positive impact beyond the classroom.

A fantastic achievement by all involved—very proud of what our students continue to accomplish.
