(and it's a very special position!)

We are a small school with a big heart, set in the lovely village of Lidlington. At Thomas Johnson, we believe schools should be places where children feel happy, safe, inspired and excited to learn – and where staff feel valued, supported and proud to work.

👉We are excited to offer a **very unique opportunity** for a teacher to join our team on a **one day per week contract** (fixed term for one year), teaching within Key Stage 1.

This role may be perfect if you are:

✔Looking to keep your hand in teaching
✔Currently working part-time and seeking an additional day
✔Considering a return to the classroom
✔Or simply looking for a flexible opportunity within a supportive school

Over the past few months our school community has taken part in the "£26.20 Challenge".

We asked every child to set themselves a challenge to see if they could raise £26.20 for school and charity.

Our children undertook challenges such as:
-throwing darts at a bullseye
-telling jokes
-riding their bikes
-bouncing on a trampoline
-baking
-obstacle courses
..and many more wonderful ideas.

In total we have raised £1000.

Half of the money is coming into school for various resources for children - and the other half is being donated to charity.

Our chosen charity and recipient of £500 is Thames Hospice - and this money will be donated through the marathon fund for Jenna Gomez.

Jenna is one of Mr Bolger's best friends (our Headteacher) - and last year they sadly lost a very close friend in Bridie Gravett. Thames Hospice cared for her in her last weeks and they continue this valuable work for other families.

Jenna is running the TCS London Marathon on Sunday 26th April in Bridie's memory - and all the funds she raises will go to Thames Hospice.

Well done and thank you to all the children who took part and to everyone who made a donation - this money will be very well used and very gratefully received.

Now, in a just under a week's time, let's get behind Jen and cheer her to the finish line!

⭐️ We’re recruiting at Thomas Johnson Lower School ⭐️

We are a small school with a big heart in the village of Lidlington, and we’re looking for two brilliant teachers to join us in September 2026 – one in EYFS and one in KS2.

We’re not looking for perfect. We’re looking for people who care. People who believe every child matters. People who want to make learning fun, exciting and full of possibility.
