A lovely 'Log Cabin' patchwork session at the 'Stitchety Textiles Sessions' at The New Art Gallery Walsall this week. It's a fiddly start but I had instruction sheets and charts for colour placement so we made some lovely patches, leading on to some bigger home projects I believe!
- I'm aiming to put these instruction resources on my website, so watch this space!

This is just some of the things I've been working on with women and children at Pathway Project since I started volunteering. It can seem like such a small thing, with everything they're dealing with but I truly believe in the power of learning skills like sewing. Being able to mend or even sew your own clothes can give a real sense of independence as well as the mindfulness and creativity it can bring. A huge thank you to the women I've met so far and a massive thank you to the staff who are just wonderful people.

It was an honour and a joy to find out more about Tereza Bušková's brilliant 'Mothers without Hands' exhibition, at and celebration event on Saturday The New Art Gallery Walsall

This exhibition has been the inspiration for so many of the workshops I've been running for adult groups and families lately, as well as for me personally.

The craft skills and materials she and her collaborators have used are obviously such a draw for me but there's also such depth, bravery and humanity to the work too - plus she's a wonderful person and one hell of a baker!

I have 2 more family workshops inspired by her work coming up and the exhibition is on, in the Community Gallery, until 15th November - Would highly recommend! 😍

I’m thrilled to be working with the brilliant for this lovely children’s sewing and picnic workshop. We’ve got a morning and an afternoon session where we’ll guide you through sewing and decorating an outfit for your teddy with templates, pre-threaded needles and lovely recycled fabrics to choose from finishing up with a yummy picnic, all at the cosy Cup of Joy cafe in Penn WV4 5SN on Sunday 27th September

Inspired by the brilliant 'Andy Warhol: Art Star' exhibition at Wolverhampton Art Gallery I'm making 'Andy's Snack Bags' on Monday 24th August - Sew a simple felt bag and transform it into your favourite packet of treats, using sticky backed felt letters and yummy snack shapes.

There are 3 sessions at 10.45, 12.30 and 14.15 - Book now through the gallery site.
