My Friday night ritual for switching off from work? A run. 🏃🏻‍♀️💨

Come rain or shine, you’ll usually find me out on the streets winding down after the week.

Except tonight… it didn’t quite work as planned. 🤣

At 6km, I stopped the watch, and apparently every single tab in my brain decided to reopen at once. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Next thing I know, I’m picking conkers off the floor thinking…
“OMG, the soldiers will LOVE these!” 🌰😂

So obviously, instead of switching off, I spent the entire run home planning exactly when I can fit a conker-tree-picking expedition into next week’s schedule. 🤣

Although… maybe we’ll walk there rather than run. 🌰🤣

🌿✨ This week’s fun & learning ✨🌿

What a lovely week we’ve had! 🥰

This week we welcomed baby C to our setting and he absolutely smashed it! 💚 He settled in so brilliantly, and it’s safe to say I think he likes us!

We’re so excited to watch him grow, learn, explore and have SO much fun with us over the coming years. 🥰🧸✨

We’ve been busy out and about too, enjoying lots of opportunities for learning through play and exploring our local community:

🌳 Worden Park playground – plenty of climbing, running, exploring and developing those big physical skills!

🛝 Leyland Garden Centre soft play – lots of fun and physical play.

📚🎶 Eccleston Library – singing time, stories and books… always a favourite! ❤️

And to top it all off, we had an exciting toy delivery! 📦🎁 New resources ready to inspire even more play, exploration and learning in the weeks ahead. 🧩🧸✨

Another busy week filled with fun, friendships, firsts and lots of learning without even realising we’re learning! 💕🌈

Shopping delivery day AGAIN! 🛒

Where has that week gone?! 😭

Remember last week when I posted my fruit bowl and everyone probably thought “surely she can’t possibly need that much fruit…” 🍓🍌🍎😂

Well… welcome to this week’s episode: YOGHURT MOUNTAIN. 🥛⛰️🤣

A whole week’s worth of yoghurts because apparently I’m not running a childminding setting… I’m supplying the local dairy industry. 😂

Fruit mountain last week. Yoghurt mountain this week. What’s next?! 👀😂

I like to call it the magic mat 😂✨

This mat is honestly the one thing that seems to help my new starters settle at nap time. 💤

Maybe it’s the freedom of not being trapped in an enclosed space like a travel cot.
Maybe it’s the comfort of knowing they’re still close to me, or that they can easily get to me if they need reassurance. 🤍

“Don’t they keep trying to get off it and play?”

No. No they don’t. 😂

I genuinely don’t know how they know… but somehow, they just know. 🤷‍♀️😂

Once they’re on the magic mat, it’s like they’ve been told, “Right, this is where we sleep.” 😂

No escaping. No crawling off. No playing. Just comfy, cosy and ready for a nap. 🥹💤

We’ll probably never know exactly why it works so well, but it is single-handedly one of the best purchases I’ve ever made.

Comfy babies, cosy naps and a peaceful naptime… 🥰

I don’t question the magic. 😂✨

🎒✨ Good luck to all my Little Soldiers starting school this week! ✨🎒

Some of you went off to preschool before starting your school journey, while some of you stayed with me right until the very end… but every single one of you has a little piece of my heart. 🥹❤️

I’ll be thinking of you all as you take those very first steps into such a big new chapter. I hope you settle in quickly, make lots of lovely friends, have the best time and show everyone just how amazing you are! 🥰

It feels like only yesterday you were tiny babies coming through my door, and now you’re heading off to school. Where did those years go?! 😭

I’m so incredibly proud of every one of you and feel so lucky to have been a little part of your journey. ❤️

Thought I’d give you all a little insight into what it actually takes to feed the Soldiers every week… 😂🍌

THIS is just the fruit delivery. 🍎🍓🍉🍊🍌

And before you ask… yes, I will still have to buy more bananas before next week. 🤦‍♀️😂

I’m genuinely starting to question whether I’m running a childminding business or a small-scale chimpanzee sanctuary with the amount of bananas we go through. 🐒

The fruit bowl is basically a full-time employee at this point. 😂

And this is only the fruit.
We haven’t even entered the yoghurt department yet. 👀🥛

Honestly, I should probably be getting a loyalty card… or shares in a yoghurt company. 😂

A Little Break 💛

After today, I'll be closed for one day while I take a little long-weekend break to finish off the summer holidays. ☀️

I’ll be making the most of some quality time with my own little one, and enjoying him before he heads back to school. 🥹❤️

The summer holidays have absolutely flown by, so I’m looking forward to switching off for a weekend, making some memories and soaking up that precious time together before the school routine begins again.

Back to normal after our little break! 💕✨

This Week’s Fun & Learning 🌟

What a lovely week it’s been! 💛

We’ve spent a little more time at home and visiting other childminders than usual as we’ve been helping our September starters settle in. It’s been lovely to slow things down, give everyone the time and reassurance they need, and enjoy some familiar faces and new friendships along the way. 🥰

We’ve still managed to squeeze in plenty of adventures too! 🌻🐠

🌻 A visit to Bretherton Sunflowers
🐟 Exploring the aquarium and meeting the fish and axolotls
🎸 Lots of fun at Tiny Rockers Soft Play

We also said some very special goodbyes to our September leavers. 💕 It’s always bittersweet watching little ones move on to their next adventure, but we’re so proud of how much they’ve grown during their time with us.

And of course… we celebrated a very special 2nd birthday! 🎂🎈

Another week full of play, learning, adventures, celebrations and lots of memories made. ❤️
