🐯🦒 We're Hiring a Deputy Manager at Little Mowgli Nursery! 🦒🐯

We have an exciting opportunity for a Deputy Manager to join our nursery team as we expand our numbers.

Little Mowgli Nursery is a small, private nursery located in the centre of Leyland. We welcome children from all cultures, ethnicities and family backgrounds, where we provide high-quality learning and expose children to a wide range of experiences.

We have a capacity of 21 children, split across 2 rooms: our tiger room (0-2 years) and our giraffe room (2-5 years). We provide wrap-around care, available from 7:00am – 6:00pm, with funded places available.

📍 Location: Leyland
💰 Pay: £13.75 per hour
⏰ Hours: 37.5 hrs/week, Monday–Friday
📅 51 weeks/year
🏖️ 23 days holiday + set nursery closures
🗓️ Start date: As soon as possible

What you'll be doing:
🌱 Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of children in our care
🤝 Fostering positive relationships with children, parents, staff and the wider community
📋 Supporting the Manager in the day-to-day operations of the nursery
🛡️ Acting as Deputy Safeguarding Lead and ensuring Safeguarding policies are adhered to
🚀 Leading within a room and leading our staff team by example
🎨 Inspiring fun, educational play and creating activities that support children at all stages of learning
📈 Identifying areas in the curriculum delivery for improvement
🩺 Working with other professionals such as SENCOs, EYFS advisors, and health professionals
👥 Assisting in the recruitment, induction, training and appraisal of staff

What we're looking for:
✅ Level 3 qualification (or above) – Essential
✅ 2+ years' experience in early childhood education – Essential
✅ 2+ years' experience in a management-level position – Desirable

On Monday, we celebrated our nursery graduation. We enjoyed a performance of “We’re going on a bear hunt” before a presentation of certificates and hearing all about the children’s favourite things to do at nursery. The children also told us what they want to do when they are older. We can’t to see our future “vets”, “fairy girls” and “teenagers”!

This week at nursery, we're learning all about Transport and Vehicles. In our circle time, we spoke about traffic lights and what each colour means. We then played a game called "Stop, get ready, go!". We also looked at pedestrian crossings and practised walking safely. We can't wait to practise our road-crossing skills when we're out and about!

This week, we have been carrying on with our People who Help Us topic. We’ve done a range of activities, learning about paramedics, postmen, police and many other jobs in our community. The children have enjoyed painting police badges, cutting and sticking pictures of ambulances and creating letters nd posting them. Well done children! 👮🏻‍♂️👩🏻‍🚒👩🏼‍⚕️

I love you from my head to-ma-toes! 🍅 this week, the children made cards for someone special ready for Father’s Day. They really enjoyed sticking the tomatoes on the card and drawing the faces on too! We all had a go at writing our names inside as well.
Happy Father’s Day to all the dads, grandads, uncles, and any important family members who help us to grow! We hope you have a lovely day of celebrating with family!

This week during our under the sea topic, we have all made our own turtles 🐢 The children in the Giraffe Room used split pins to attach the turtle’s body parts, whereas the Tiger Room children used glue to make a turtle picture. Everyone loved this activity and were really proud of their creations!

Get up and dance nursery!
During our circle times this month, the children have loved showing off their dance moves and celebrating each other. We all clap and sing along with each other "I have a friend called ____, ____ is my friend, get up and dance _____, get up and dance _____, get up and dance ______, ______ can sit down!"
Try it at home with your little one!

We spent the week “on the farm” in the Giraffe room this week. The children got stuck in creating their own farms using cutting and sticking skills, as well as building farms in the construction area. Well done children! 🐷🐔🐴🐮

✅ Act as a key worker for a small group, monitoring their progress and
planning for next steps
✅ Work with other professionals, such as SENCOs, EYFS advisors, and
health professionals when required

We're looking for someone with:
⭐ Minimum Level 2 qualification, equivalent or above (Essential)
⭐ Experience in working with babies (children under 1) (Desirable)
