As another fantastic school year comes to an end, the PE Department would like to wish all of our pupils, families and staff a restful, relaxing and well-deserved summer break.

Thank you to everyone who has taken part in our clubs, fixtures, competitions and events throughout the year. Your enthusiasm, commitment and sporting spirit have made it another memorable year for school sport.

We hope you enjoy spending quality time with family and friends, making lasting memories and taking the opportunity to recharge over the holidays.

We can't wait to hit the ground running in September with another exciting year of sporting opportunities for everyone to get involved in.

A huge congratulations to F. Metcalfe on an incredible performance at the recent IAIGC Gymnastics World Championships in Florida, USA! 🇺🇸

Competing against some of the world's most talented gymnasts, F. Metcalfe produced a series of outstanding routines to achieve:

🥇 Gold Overall on the Bars
🥈 Silver Overall on the Vault
🥈 Silver Overall on the Floor

These fantastic results are a testament to the dedication, commitment and countless hours of training that have gone into reaching the world stage. To return home from a recent World Championships with three overall medals is an outstanding achievement.

We would like to wish N. Connolly the very best of luck as she competes in the 100m and 200m Breaststroke at this summer's Swim England National Championships.

To qualify for a national event is a fantastic achievement and is a testament to the countless hours of dedication, commitment and hard work N. Connolly has put into her training.

We are incredibly proud of your achievement and know you will represent both your club with pride. Enjoy every moment of the experience and give it your all!

A huge congratulations to A. Hodges on being selected to represent the South Ribble U15’s District Football Team!

This is a fantastic achievement, especially considering the high standard on display throughout the selection process. With 38 talented pupils attending the district trials, earning a place in the final squad is a testament to A. Hodges' hard work, dedication and footballing ability.

🏆⚽ SOUTH RIBBLE PLATE CHAMPIONS! ⚽🏆

A huge congratulations to our Year 10 Boys' Football Team, who were crowned South Ribble Plate Champions this afternoon after an outstanding 3-0 victory over Wellfield!

The final was an intense, end-to-end encounter, with both teams battling from the first whistle. As the game progressed, St Mary's grew in confidence and began to take control, producing some excellent build-up play and intelligently finding and exploiting gaps in the Wellfield defence.

The boys created chance after chance, struck the woodwork and came agonisingly close on several occasions before their quality finally shone through.

Player of the Match: D. Almond, who produced a superb all-round performance and led by example throughout the final.

Every player played their part in a brilliant team display, showing determination, composure and excellent technical ability to secure a well-deserved victory.

Well done to our U16 Girls' Football Team, who gave absolutely everything in this afternoon's South Ribble Cup Final against Lostock Hall.

The girls battled from end to end, showing determination, resilience and teamwork throughout a very competitive match. After an exciting 60 minutes, the score was level at 2-2, taking the final to a dramatic penalty shootout.

Unfortunately, it wasn't to be our day, with Lostock Hall edging the shootout 4-3.

Although the result didn't go our way, every single player should be proud of their performance. Reaching the final is a fantastic achievement and one that reflects the hard work and dedication the girls have shown all season.
