Interested in getting your little one into music?

We are teaming up with Amp-Music to deliver 8 music sessions for 6-11 year olds.

The sessions will be run by Bee Darceey and Jennifer Saggers, delivering a range of activities like bucket drumming, Create-a-Song and much more!

No experience necessary, but if you do play an instrument please bring it along!

We have three taster workshops leading up to the run of 8 sessions. Taster sessions run from 4.30pm to 6pm

Come along too a taster session:

Catterick Library: Tuesday 20th February
Askrigg Village Hall: Tuesday 27th February
Leyburn Methodist Church Hall: Friday 1st March

Following the taster workshops, we will run 8 sessions in Leyburn on Fridays from 4.30-6pm:

(sessions will not run on 29th March or 5th April due to Easter Holidays)
12th April
19th April
26th April
3rd May
10th May

You do not need to be available for all of these sessions to take part, or to come to a workshop!

What's on in December?

We have three exciting events taking place this December, firstly, we will be hosting the Wensleydale Young Musician of the Year award. This will be a day full of music from a range of young musicians. The performance will take place on Saturday 2nd December in St. Matthews Church.

'Christmas Together' will take place on the 9th December in St. Matthews Church, where the Leyburn Jazz Collective, Dales Community Pop Choir, and Wensleydale Gospel Choir will come together to perform some festive favourites as well as their favourites from the years performances!

Finally, the young musicians of Play Record Perform - Youth Music Project will have their Christmas concert 'A Magical Christmas' on the 15th December in Thoralby Village Hall, and again on the 16th December at Leyburn Arts & Community Centre.

Interested in singing with a small, friendly choir? Come and join us for our last two rehersals before our performance at ‘Christmas Together’ with the Leyburn Jazz Collective, and The Dales Community Pop Choir.

All abilities welcome, you do not need to have had experience in a choir, just come along and have a sing!

We are meeting in Thornborough Hall tonight at 7pm, and the same again next Monday!

Due to some classic Yorkshire Dales weather, we have had to cancel our rehersal tonight for our Gospel Choir & our Community Caroling session.

We will be continuing as normal next Monday (20th)

Leyburn Jazz Collective rehearsals are in full swing, we are getting ready for TWO upcoming performances.

We will be performing at Leyburn Lights on 25th November and at our Christmas Concert 'Christmas Together' on the 9th December.

It's not too late to come and join the collective, we are a friendly group of musicians at a range of abilities, and anyone over 16 is welcome!

After a successful few sessions & performance with York City Gospel Choirs director, we are carrying on our Gospel Community Choir sessions with the wonderful MD of The Dales Community Pop Choir

Join us at Thornborough Hall on the 6th, 13th, 20th & 27th November, and 4th of December, leading up to a performance at a Christmas Concert on the 9th December!

No experience is needed for these sessions, just come along for a sing with a lovely group!

Another exciting workshop to come along too this weekend!

Interested in singing in a choir? Why not try it out!

On Saturday 7th & 14th October, York City Gospel Choir will lead two afternoon workshops, the result of which will be informally performed at the Leyburn Jazz Festival.

These sessions are suitable for anyone interested in group singing or playing in a worship band, no experience necessary, just come along and have fun!

There is still time to sign up for our Jazz Workshop with Paul Edis!

Running on Saturday 7th October 2.30 to 4.30pm at Leyburn Methodist Church Hall, the group will work with Paul to create an improvised Jazz piece to share at the Leyburn Jazz Festival.

Ages 11-19 (other ages considered), all instruments welcome including vocalists. Some playing experience is desired (as a guide, working towards Grade 3, exams are NOT required)
