💔Our beautiful Fin 💔
There really are no words to describe how heartbroken we are to say that we lost our beautiful Fin last night.
It was such a shock. It happened so quickly and completely unexpectedly, and we are all absolutely devastated.
Fin came to us three years ago and, in that time, he became so much more than just a pony. He became part of the yard and part of so many people’s memories.
He was quite simply an amazing pony. He looked after riders of all abilities and gave so many students the confidence to learn, try new things and believe in themselves. He was the sort of pony you could put anyone on and trust him to look after them. So many people have a special story or memory involving Fin, and that is a very special legacy to leave behind.
But it wasn’t just what he did under saddle that made him so special. Fin was just the loveliest person. He was adorable, kind, gentle and had the most wonderful character. He had a way of making everyone smile, and you couldn’t help but love him.
The yard is going to feel very different without him.
We feel so incredibly lucky that Fin came into our lives. We will be forever grateful for everything he gave us and for all the people he helped along the way.
Thank you, Fin, for being you. For looking after so many of our riders, for teaching us, making us laugh and for simply being the wonderful pony that you were.
Run free, beautiful boy. 🌈🐴

Arena Hire available from 11th August - 4th September. Currently only indoors however if we ever get rain I will add the outdoor arena on when its suitable. If you would like to use Jumps that is fine however they must be added on to the booking and hirers responsibility to put out and away in the same place.

**HORSES WANTED FOR LOAN – SEPTEMBER 2026**

Could your horse become part of our Plumpton College Equine teaching herd?

Plumpton College Equine Department is looking for horses to join our teaching herd on loan for the 2026/27 academic year (September–June), with the option to extend by mutual agreement if the loan is successful.

We are looking for horses that are:
15hh or above
Sound and fit for regular work
Able to safely walk, trot, canter and confidently jump a 70cm course
Polite to handle with good stable manners
Happy and relaxed in a busy teaching environment

Our horses are at the heart of our students' education and receive an exceptional standard of care from our experienced equine staff and supervised students. Every horse is treated as an individual, with their welfare and happiness always our highest priority.

Your horse will benefit from:
Excellent daily care and professional management
A varied workload to maintain fitness and education
Turnout and individual care plans where appropriate
Fantastic facilities, including an indoor arena, outdoor arenas, all-weather surfaces and access to varied hacking
Experienced instructors and knowledgeable equine staff overseeing all ridden and practical sessions
A caring environment where welfare always comes first

A loan with Plumpton College could be the perfect solution if you're:

Going on maternity leave

Important Update: Plumpton College Equine May Show
Due to the increasing number of Equine Influenza cases locally, regionally and nationally, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the Plumpton College Equine May Show.
The health and wellbeing of horses must come first. With cases continuing to rise, we believe cancelling the event is the most responsible decision to help reduce unnecessary risk and protect the wider equine community.
This show was organised by our equine students as part of their course, and they have worked incredibly hard to prepare for it. All pre-entry payments will be refunded; however, if anyone would prefer to waive their refund in support of the students and the work they have put into the event, or transfer their entry to another upcoming show this would be very much appreciated.
