Intergenerational Games at Parris Lawn Care Home

On Thursday Mrs Crane and Mrs Emmerson took a group of Upper Key Stage Two learners to Parris Lawn Care Home to play board and card games with the residents. The children and residents had a great time getting to know each other. We are very proud of our learners who showed all of our school values and made a real difference to the residents they met and spent time with. The morning was full of smiles and laughter! Another highlight was the yummy treats the care home provided for our learners. Thank you to parents, Yaron and Jackie who also accompanied us on the trip and to the staff of Parris Lawn Care home for your warm welcome and continued enthusiasm to work with our school on intergenerational projects.

Nursery Trip to Parris Lawn Care Home

On Tuesday morning our nursery children visited Parris Lawn Care Home this week to meet Father Christmas, sing to the residents and deliver Christmas cards. The children were greeted with a beautiful winter grotto and a present each kindly provided by the Parris Lawn Care Home staff. We look forward to building on this relationship with Parris Lawn to provide enriching experiences for both our children and their residents.

Nursery Rising Fives Trip to Ringmer Library

Our rising fives in nursery enjoyed a visit to the local library this week. They are developing stamina to go on longer walks through the village and loved meeting Liz and Jane who volunteer at the library.

The children learnt about the purpose of the library, explored the range of books on offer and had a story read to them by one of the library volunteers. The library kindly gave each child a book as a Christmas gift and we hope that this visit will continue to instill a love of stories and books in our youngest learners.

Thank you to the parents who helped with this trip and we look forward to building on the link we have developed with our local library. Please take advantage of this wonderful community resource we have in our village.
