Enchanted Day Nursery

Last week in Crown Room👑 we explored some of our favourite stories, we started the week exploring “What the ladybird heard” where we designed our own paper plate ladybirds 🐞 , we then made our very own playdough ladybirds 🐞 too. Next up we hit the high seas 🌊 searching for treasure 🪙 in “Pirates love underpants” 🏴‍☠️🩲 we designed our very own treasure maps🗺️ as well as exploring a island 🏝️ tuff tray searching for hidden gold. We then dived into the ocean 🌊 looking at the story “The Rainbow Fish”🌈🐠, we made our own little rainbow fish sticking and gluing on its scales as well as painting our own rainbow scale too. Finally we looked at the story “Monkey Puzzle” 🧩 🐒 where we practiced our jumping skills as well as making some missing posters to help find the monkey’s mummy.

Last week in Castle room we focused on keeping cool, we explored different colours by using pipettes to dye cotton pads, we also cleaned cars by using foam and scrubbing with toothbrushes. We were very excited to celebrate the eclipse, we played in a galaxy gloop and decorated our own moon paper plates. To keep active in the room we did an obstacle course, we raced through a tunnel then balanced across stepping stones!

Last week in Forest room we started our new theme of 'all around the world', we started the week with a spaghetti gloop tray before moving onto monument drawing before moving on to finding different flags in flour. We also really being out in the garden playing on our stepping stones and washing some icy cars to stay cool as well as spending time with our friends from wand room.

Last week in Wand Room, we enjoyed playing with our friends in Forest Room! We played in the garden together enjoying the sunshine, splashing in the water and emptying and filling the cups. We also enjoyed exploring the sensory shapes, looking through them at the different colours they have and shaking them. They also explored a Maldives themed tuff tray filled with coconut water, pigs and some different coloured seashell ice cubes. 🧊🏖️

Last week in crown 👑 room we all had so much fun with lots of amazing activities like gloop jungle tray, rice 🍚 tuff tray and different wallpaper stories. It was really hot in the garden so we all did some calm yoga 🧘‍♀️ in the room and also played lots of fun games like sea shell 🐚 sorting and penalty shoot out ⚽️. Children enjoyed making some rainbow 🌈 potions and moon 🌙 sand ice creams. To enhance their creativity they all enjoyed making some colourful pretty flowers 🌺, play dough cakes and rainbow umbrellas ☔️. We had so much fun last week and we are looking forward for another fun week.

Last week in castle room we enjoyed looking after our babies and talking about how to help them with everyday activities. We also enjoyed our beach tray using different textures for the ocean and sand to discuss where difference animals live. We kept cool by playing with lots of water and dipping our feet in the paddling pool.☀️ We practised crushing different types of berry’s exploring the different colours they may have.

Last week in Forest room we continued our theme of summer holidays/places we go. We started the week with various water play activities as the weather was so warm, we took paint in a car washing tray before exploring a mini aquarium tuff tray and talking about what animals we might find. Later we enjoyed creating our own passports before exploring a chocolate gloop tray with the dinosaurs. We finished the week with getting messy and paining some lovely portraits 🎨 🦕

Last week in The Wand room We continued our theme of summer time 🍦🏖️☀️ the babies had lots of fun splashing in the water 💦 to keep cool both inside and in the garden we also used various containers to pour and tip the water. We also used our painting skills to paint and decorate various pictures and used the crayons to make our own passports. The babies really enjoy playing with the play doh at the moment they use their fine motor skills to roll it out and then use the cutters to make various shapes. The babies also had lots of fun in the garden in the mornings before it got too hot 🥵

Last week in crown room the children explored the topic insects and mini beasts 🐜. The children did lots of fun activities such as, spaghetti worm tray , bug in a rug 🐞, count the spiders legs 🕷️ and lots more fun activities! On Thursday we had a party day as the term has come to the end. We made some party hats 🥳, played pass the parcel 🎁 and musical statues 🎵! Overall the children had a wonderful week!

Last week in castle room we enjoyed looking at many different occupations, we had our own office using different keyboards and laptops as well as practising our building skills!🧱 We practised taking care of teeth by using foam and water to brush our cut out teeth. We have enjoyed being as active as we can whether that is playing outdoors on the bikes or showing off our dance moves!☀️
