Dear Festival Friends,
Please send a PM for an invite to TGL Samhain Gathering.
30 October-5th November 2017.
Nr, Marlborough, Wiltshire.
Nearest Rail Station: Pewsey (GWR).
Suggested Contribution £50-35, includes meals, camping, and space for live-in vehicles.
Following on from 'Mythic Moot', Beltain 2014, 'Ye Out of the Box Camp', Autumn Equinox 2015, and several meetings and discussions since, envisioning a ‘life-changing events series’, this is the next step towards setting up a national touring event in 2018. The Good Life Samhain Gathering a planning focus for 2018 TGLG events around the UK and a Samhain Celebration.
2018 Events Planning:
The Good Life Gatherings will be themed across a full spectrum of Holistic Self-Reliance Skills from the spiritual to the practical. Each event will be an opportunity to network with people who are interested in setting up or reinvigorating their communities with 'Out of the Box' solutions.
TGLG will bring together the best practical examples of self-sufficient, efficient & sustainable, holistic practices and provide templates for participants to take away and establish in their own neighbourhood.
Each event will aim to leave a legacy which will grow and spawn other sympathetic projects.
TGLGs will run as standalone events and potentially partner with other events which resonate with its Ethos.
Topics to include: Home Building, Food & Health, Education, Technology, Culture, Alternative Economy Models, Developing and Sustaining Communities…
There will be a discussion on what form each of these events could take, possible locations around the UK. It would be helpful to get an idea of what people may like to offer for 2018 in terms of skills, time and other resources, both before the season starts and during the season. On the ground, how many events could you commit to? Each gathering could last for a week or more. What would you need to participate and what would you like to get out of these events.
Celebration: Samhain 2017.
There will be various communal activities:
We will make music, sing, dance, cook, eat, work and play together for a week in the beautiful Vale of Pewsey. There will be space for Film Shows, Presentations, open discussion, Practical Workshops, Outdoor Games, Indoor Games. Nature walks,
You are the Cabaret! Bring your positive intentions and inventions along and anything useful for celebrating the Pagan New Year!
Practical kit to show off your skills, acoustic musical instruments and any party pieces you may want to show are most welcome. We are the Cabaret!
Site information and Ts&Cs:
N.B. the site a joins a lake!
Children are the responsibility of their parents and carers at all times!
Dogs:
The farm’s Shepherdess has requested that, if possible, dogs not be brought to the event. It's not a ban, however, if you bring your dog it is a condition that it is kept on a lead at all times!
The site is on a working farm with sheep and pheasant woods close by any stray dogs disturbing livestock will likely result in an outright dog ban, penalising dog owners who clean up after and don't let their pets run astray OR could even put future events in jeopardy on this site.
Fireworks:
This subject is under discussion with the farm and we may be able to set these off by arrangement if livestock can be moved from adjoining fields first.
In short: Fires and sparklers are fine. Loud bangs only by arrangement.
