Great Witchingham Church of England Primary School Catering for children from surrounding villages and further afield, our small, friendly school is part of the Trinity Federation of Church Schools.

osely with our local churches and the diocese, as well as the local community and local authority. We cater for children from the villages of Alderford, Attlebridge, Great Witchingham, Lenwade, Morton-on-the-Hill and Weston Longville. Parents from outside this catchment area may also choose our school because of its Christian ethos. As a member of the Trinity Federation of Church Schools, we work together with Hockering and St Peters, Easton Church Schools. We benefit from their additional skills, strengths and experiences, as well as being able to share resources, as well as our governing body and head teacher.

It’s nearly time for Back To School……
We return on Thursday 3rd September and are looking forward to welcoming the children back.

PE days are as follows -
Discoverers - Monday and Friday
Adventurers- Tuesday and Friday
Navigators - Monday PE and Friday Swimming. Swimming will start next Friday (11th).
Please send children in wearing their PE kits on PE days.

Can we remind you to send your child in with a water bottle and a coat, as we like to get the children out whatever the weather.

Schools out for summer ☀️
Wishing you all a lovely summer holiday, the children definitely deserve a break after all of their hard work this year.
Wishing our year 6’s all the best as they transition into high school. You will all be amazing 🤩

Your children have been a pleasure to teach over the years and see them blossom from shy tiny people to awesome young adults.

Thank you to all who attended Sports Day yesterday and showed support to the children. All the children tried their best on every activity and showed great teamwork. Well done to Green team who lifted the trophy and to all of the other teams for their amazing determination.
A big thank you to the Friends who provided teas and coffee for the adults and ice lollies for the children (and staff!).
Also thank you to Louis from LB Coaching who planned and ran the event.

If you have not returned the Young Voices permission form but would like your child to attend this event, you have until end of business tomorrow to sign them up. The completed forms need to be handed in to the school office and the payment of £23 needs to made on the payment app.

Good morning,

We are looking forward to our Sports Day at the village hall tomorrow, the weather is looking a little cooler than last week but children will still need hats, sun cream and water bottles.

Please note, we are doing things a little different from previous years. We are starting with a round robin of 8 events. The children will move around in groups completing each event and collecting points for their teams, then we will move onto the more traditional races. Please cheer your children on from the sidelines to encourage them but we kindly ask that you refrain from calling your child away from their group during the morning as our staff will be accounting for the children at all times and this will make it easier for them. Many thanks for your support with this. Events will begin at 10am.

Dear Parents and Carers,
Due to the high temperatures forecast, we would like to offer parents and carers the option of collecting their child(ren) from school at 1:00pm tomorrow.

This is entirely optional, and the school will remain open as normal for all pupils until the usual end of the school day.

If you wish to collect your child at 1:00pm, please inform the school office by tomorrow morning so that we can make the necessary arrangements.
