Operating as usual
We are super duper excited for our Summer Fayre which is only a few weeks away now!
We hope you have the 22nd June booked into your diaries to come along and join us for a day of family friendly fun!
We had so much fun at our Teddy Bear's Picnic last week! We all wore green to support mental health week as well and had a great time bringing in all our teddies for lunch!
Despite some drizzly weather, we loved our sports day this week! What a great day to showcase all our sporting talents!
Thank you to all the families who turned out in force to support the children and cheer them on!
The Rushmere Park Academy is an Eco School!
We have recently been awarded the Eco School's Green Flag accreditation. This was a 7 stage application which involved showcasing work that our Eco-council have carried out, curriculum learning and uploading evidence of our work on reducing energy, recycling and biodiversity.
We are so proud of our young pupils who have a real sense of responsibility for the world around.
Our community gardening project with our neighbours Carrington House is in full swing!
The children, staff, residents and parents are all enjoying the activities.
The purpose of this group is to increase our ties with the community, to give parents some 1-1 time with their children, to learn some gardening skills and perhaps most importantly to have fun together with the residents and children interacting in a relaxed environment.
Following on from a busy week, this week our focus has been on science. All classes have carried out practical investigations each day as well as joining in with live lessons hosted by the BBC. We have had lots of excited, curious and inspired pupils enjoying their learning in school.
We have a great part time role available at our school and are now seeking a friendly Midday Supervisor to join our team.

It was wonderful to welcome residents of both Carrington House and St Georges Court to come into The Rushmere Park Academy and share in our Harvest celebrations on Monday 9th October.
Classes sang and performed poems to mark the occasion and the school has raised a fantastic donation for the Leighton-Linslade Helpers food bank.
We went RED for dyslexia this month to bring awareness to the stigma that so many dyslexia leaners feel!
Red is a familiar colour associated with mistakes, corrections, crossing out an disapproval and so we wore red to help change the narrative!
Our pupils across the day enjoyed lots of different activities, helping them learn more about how they can support fellow friends with dyslexia!
We had such a wonderful morning raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Thank you to all the amazing families to came along to support the event, we couldn't have done it without you!
We raised a fantastic total of £578.70! Thank you to Morrisons for matching our total and supporting such a brilliant cause!
