So here we are. Yesterday was our last day of trading as Fly A Flight. I never thought it would come to this. The start of a new chapter for me as unemployed. I thought the last chapter was for good but I was wrong.

I feel desperately sorry for my staff that I couldn't keep the business running and keep them all in a job which we all loved. I am also sorry for all the customers that were looking forward to taking their experience with us but never got the chance. This was a situation that we never dreamt we would be in.

Over the years we have had the privilege to meet some incredible people from a retired Admiral of the fleet air arm, a British army bobsleighing team, TV Celebrities and WW2 RAF and Luftwaffe pilots (it was an absolute privilege to meet these pilots who we all owe so much. We must never forget them)

It is a sad day for me. I would like to thank every customer, world wide, who took the time to visit us and try our simulators. Without you, we wouldn't of had the last 14 wonderful years of trading. This was never a business for me but an extension of my passion.

I would also like to thank my wife for putting up with me with the highs and lows of running Fly A flight. Many hours she would spend doing bookwork. My accountant always commended her as to how good the book keeping was.

I would like to thank all my staff, past and present, for all their efforts. I will always appreciate everything that they did in the running of this business. Once again, thank you to each and every customer that came through our doors to get behind the controls of our simulators.

So now is the time for me to hang up my wings and step back...with Fly A Flight...YOU HAD CONTROL.

Continuing from the previous post.

If you have a voucher from a third party such as Buyagift, Red letter days, into the blue, Virgin experience or Groupon, Please contact them direct where they will be able to deal with your voucher.

If you have a Fly a Flight voucher, you will receive a letter from the liquidator in February. This will give you the option for a possible charge back from the purchasing card. We are unable to issue refunds direct as we no longer have control of the bank.

It is with great sadness that we have to inform our followers that we have had to make the very difficult decision to close the business.

Recent government policies have made it almost impossible for businesses to survive. This has lead to sustained financial losses, reduced bookings and rising costs meaning the business is no longer viable. This is a decision that we have not taken lightly and one we make with real sadness.

We have been trading for 14 years and in that time worked really hard to make sure our customers had the best possible experience with us. This has been reflected in our reviews with over 1000 5 star trip advisor reviews. We were obviously doing something right! We have looked at every possible avenue to recover the business but to no avail.

We are acutely aware of the impact this has had on our team and want to thank our staff and customers for their support over the years. This is not the outcome we wanted but a reality we now have to face.

We wish our staff and customers all the best in the future.

We will be trading to the end of January. All bookings for January will go ahead.

Its Christmas special offer time.

Why not treat someone you know to a flight simulator experience at Fly a Flight.

We have 3 Simulators to choose from, Boeing 737, Spitfire MK2a or Messerschmitt 109. All built to original specification. Either take a solo experience where you take the controls for take off and landing, or maybe some dogfights if you choose the ww2 simulators.
Prices are currently running with approximately 20% discount until the end of December.

8 years ago we did the prototype testing of a full set of Spitfire MK2 gauges. They were excellent. Any teething troubles were reported back to Chris, the man behind the design and manufacture of the gauges.

8 years on, they have come a long way in development and improvements.

We now have the latest panel from simbutik, the company that has evolved from our initial testings. I have to say, although I thought the original gauges were great, they have come on in leaps and bounds. This new panel is amazing. We now have a full working panel. Every gauge, switch and button is fully functional.

We are now in the final stages of getting a full working panel in the ME 109. As far as we know, we will be the only SIM centre in the country to offer this experience with full working gauges rather than computer generated, making it an amazing, fully immersive experience.

What is just as exciting as there is more to come!

After 10 years of awards from TripAdvisor for excellent service, we have just passed 1000 5 star reviews. We are very proud to have achieved this.
We do occasionally get asked how we have so many 5 stars. They are all genuine! Our answer is "we try our utmost to make sure every customer gets the best possible experience"...I feel the reviews back that up.

Just in the past week we have had customers from Edinburgh, Australia, New Zealand, Germany, Portsmouth, Bournemouth and Norwich.
