What a fantastic way to end the Term!

Last night we held our Year 8 Excellence Evening. It was a brilliant opportunity to come together and celebrate our pupil's achievements. 🏆

Year 8 have been and incredible year group and have left a lasting impact on all those around them. We wish them the best of luck next year as they move on to upper school.

Thank you to everyone involved in making this evening a huge success!

🌟🎭 What an incredible Summer Showcase! 🎶✨

A huge congratulations to every single performer who took to the stage. From our amazing singers, drummers, dancers, pianists, violinists and ukulele players to our fantastic ensembles, the talent, confidence and dedication on display made for a truly unforgettable evening.

It was wonderful to see our pupils sharing the skills they have worked so hard to develop throughout the year. You should all be incredibly proud of yourselves!

A heartfelt thank you to our staff for all of their hard work behind the scenes, to our parents and families for their continued encouragement and support, and to our pupils for their commitment, enthusiasm and bravery in performing.

A huge well done to our brilliant bands The Shadows, Real and Slam for their outstanding performances today. It was fantastic to see your confidence, teamwork and musicianship shine on stage, and you should all be incredibly proud of what you achieved.

🎉🏆 We’re absolutely thrilled to announce that Gilbert Inglefield Academy won 1st Prize in the Schools & Children's section at this year's Leighton-Linslade Carnival!

As if that wasn't enough, we were also honoured to receive the Peter Lymbery Shield, awarded to the entry with the highest overall points across the competition.

A huge thank you to our incredible pupils, dedicated staff, supportive families and volunteers who gave their time, creativity and enthusiasm to bring our Mary Poppins float to life. From the artwork and decorations to the performances and smiles on the day, every single person played a part in this amazing achievement.

Join us for an evening of fantastic live music as our talented pupils take to the stage!

🏆 District Athletics Success! 🏆

What an absolutely fantastic day of sport! We are incredibly proud of our amazing Year 5, 6, 7, and 8 athletics teams. Every single student represented GIA with determination, teamwork, and outstanding sportsmanship.

A huge congratulations to all of our individual event winners—what an incredible achievement!

Here are our overall team results from across the day:

Morning Session (KS2)
🥉 Year 6: 3rd Place
🏅Year 5: 4th Place
👏GIA KS2 Overall: 4th Place

Afternoon Session (KS3)
🥉 Year 7: 4th Place
🏅 Year 8: 5th Place
👏 GIA KS3 Overall: 5th Place

Most importantly, every pupil gave their absolute best, had tons of fun, and represented GIA fantastically well. We couldn't be prouder of the effort, resilience, and positive attitude displayed by all of our athletes throughout the entire day.

Due to the ongoing heat weather warning and following careful consideration of the forecast conditions, we have made the decision to close the school at 12:15pm today (Friday 26th June).

We appreciate that this may cause some inconvenience, but we believe that this is the most appropriate course of action for the health, safety and wellbeing of our pupils and staff.

Following the recent hot weather warning issued by the Met Office, we would like to share some arrangements we are putting in place to help keep all children safe and comfortable during the high temperatures.

Children will be permitted to attend school wearing their PE kit for the duration of the week. Please be advised that only Gilbert Inglefield PE kit will be allowed. To help protect them from the sun, we ask that all children:

Apply sun cream before coming to school.

Bring a sun hat to wear outdoors

Bring a water bottle that can be refilled throughout the day.
