Pick and mix pasta being prepared for the pavilion after school club. Its definitely one of the favourites with the children! They love having a choice and we promote healthy choices and also talk about treats in moderation. Teaching the children about healthy eaten and choices is so important for us as a setting 🥰

I am delighted to announce something VERY EXCITING!
As you know after school care is extremely limited in our local area….well not anymore!
I have recently been in talks with a lovely childminder (and her fabulous team) and they have been able to arrange wonderful provision exclusively for Windmill pick up! (Children must be over 3) COMING VERY SOON!

Another school holiday completed, lots of trips on the bus and ended with a visit to the zoo!
We are open 47 weeks a year and can accommodate children aged 0-12 :)

Another school term is coming to an end we have really enjoyed extending our home to the pavilion after school and we still have spaces for next term and from September:) please get in touch or feel free to ask any questions you have.
Don't forget we are open 47 weeks a year so can offer some holiday cover too.

We've been focusing on busy hands this morning. Lots of our one on one activities are aimed to be adapted for different ages, Tommy is enjoying working out how these shapes can be arranged, he is learning about shape, amounts, and improving his fine motor skills. We can add to this by counting with him or talking about the roundness if the shapes or how big or small they are, we can also talk about prepositions. Is it infront or behind or inside or on top of the pot? So many wonderful learning experiences 🥰

A bit about me
I started my adult life with the intentions of working in the performing arts. I spent most of my life training as a dancer and love performing, still do! When I was 21 and out of university I knew the only other job that would interest me was working with children.
I started working full time in a nursery in London and moved on to 2 more nurseries before meeting my husband and having our eldest child Rose. Who is 6 this weekend! Whilst pregnant with Rose I completed my level 6 Early Years Teacher status as I decided I wanted to become a manager of a nursery or become a reception teacher.
Taking Rose back to work with me at the nursery was hard and after only a few months I decided it wasn't the best fit for us as a family and my mum suggested I tried childminding.
I'd never really heard about childminders before ,I knew my mum had done it for a while when I was little and between us we knew it was roughly the same training as of those in a nursery but definitely not as much hard work as it ended up being!
I loved it instantly. Freedom and doing it my way :) it was a challenge having my own child too but it was great for her development and I formed strong bonds and friendships with the parents.
Fast forward a few years we've got married, moved house , gone through a 2 year pandemic and popped out our lovely twins Tommy and Millie! I now work with 2 other assistants and we are very proud of what we have achieved including a good rating from ofsted only a few weeks after having the twins!
I'm always very strong minded about how childminders deserve respect and I really think our work is underestimated. My home is built around my business and its a long week, with my weekends and evenings being used often for work too. But I wouldn't have it any other way. Love our mad house and always will :)
