Meet Laura, our Early Years Supervisor. 😀

Hi everyone. My name is Laura, my career in childcare actually started from as young as maybe 12 when my own mother was a childminder. I loved helping during the holidays and after school and it soon became clear that childcare was going to be my career! I started with a Level 2 qualification at my local college and went on to work in a nursery shortly before having my daughter, Imogen in 2011

I then worked as a home carer for children with disabilities and special needs. After having Imogen, I took a long break to raise her and when I did go back to work, I had a short spell at retail, fitting car seats and then into another nursery job where I completed my level 3. I then found my current place with Sally almost 3 years ago. I am so excited for Little Plums to open a whole new chapter of childcare for me. I love being outdoors enjoy going for long walks so the nature of Little Plums suits me quite nicely!

I do eventually want to complete a level 4 qualification and progress from there. My favourite part of childcare is definitely story time. I love engaging children's interests in books and the written word and feel it is one of the most important things you can do with a child from a young age. Stories encourage children to use their imaginations and creative skills and I like to be a small part of those skills developing.

My dream for a long time now has been to provide a loving, homely environment for children from all walks of life and in a beautiful countryside setting. My dream's are coming true and each day is a step closer to having our own place!

We have expanded to a full 12 children a day and an after school club at the village pavilion the last few years. We work as a team of 3 staff every day. My staff are fantastic, between us we have over 20 years experience in early years and we are all mummy's ourselves. Currently we have over 30 families on our books and we can't wait to have more!

Our setting really is a home from home and we spend lots of days visiting the allotment, shop, zoo, woods and much more!

With new exciting prospects to come we may have spaces for your child so please let us know if you'd like to be added to our waiting list 😊

Hello! Here's a little snippet of tea time at the Pavilion in Cheddington!

We offer collection from windmill and Brookmead untill 530pm

Another yummy tea time at the Pavilion this afternoon! We love encouraging the children to be independent with what they like and helping each other

Pick and mix pasta being prepared for the pavilion after school club. Its definitely one of the favourites with the children! They love having a choice and we promote healthy choices and also talk about treats in moderation. Teaching the children about healthy eaten and choices is so important for us as a setting 🥰

Hello everyone!

I am delighted to announce something VERY EXCITING!

As you know after school care is extremely limited in our local area….well not anymore!

I have recently been in talks with a lovely childminder (and her fabulous team) and they have been able to arrange wonderful provision exclusively for Windmill pick up! (Children must be over 3) COMING VERY SOON!

Another school holiday completed, lots of trips on the bus and ended with a visit to the zoo!

We are open 47 weeks a year and can accommodate children aged 0-12 :)
