Last week in holiday club we had a blast!
We celebrated love, kindness and caring through different activities.
There was something for everyone, whether it was a big activity together, getting crafty and messy or taking some time away for quiet time with a book.

Also whilst on the farm the children got to meet all the new arrivals at Mead, can't wait to see how big they are at Easter Holiday Club! 🐰🐣💐🌸

🇬🇧Today at Mead Open Farm Day Nursery, we remembered and celebrated Queen Elizabeth II in many different ways.
From making play dough, to creating master pieces and decorating delicious home made biscuits, all using the colours red, white and blue.
Also, we made crowns using the best jewels around to accompany us for our tea party using our finest china.🇬🇧

🎓Graduation 2022🎓

Saturday we celebrated our Preschool children.
We have had the privilege to watch these children grow and become the amazing characters they are today.
All the staff here at Mead Open Farm Day Nursery are so proud of you, you will all be assets to your new schools.

You will all be missed so much, have fun and always be yourselves.

In this hot weather our Under 2's having been keeping cool by exploring water play with Sunflowers ☀️🌻

The last couple of weeks in Mini Farmers we have enjoyed making some yummy fruit loaf bread, banana and chocolate chip muffins. We have also explored the farm collecting different natural resources to make our own game of noughts and crosses. We also have been learning about shadows and how they are made. The children have enjoyed drawing round the different farm animal shadows in the garden.

Holiday camp is up and running here at Mead Open Farm.
What a week it has been.
We've got messy, creative, competitive and soaked.
We've pushed ourselves to do things we would never do or could not do before.
We did it all as a team!
Can't wait for next week!

Mini Farmers recently purchased some Guinea Pigs. Over the last month we have been learning all about them and the care they need. Today the children have cleaned out the Guinea pigs creating them a fresh home and also helping build their run. 🧤🧹

👩‍🏫👩‍🎓🧑‍🏫🍎Our Pre-Schoolers are getting ready for their next part of their journey in life.....Big school.

We have been doing lots of different activities to prepare them for this.
One of which is worry stones.
Each child leaving for big school has made a worry stone.

By holding and/or rubbing a stone, a child’s sensory input is occupied, helping to relieve stress and anxiety, freeing their mind to focus on the task in front of them. 🍎👨‍🎓👨‍🏫🧑‍🎓

We're going on a Bear Hunt today!

In our Under 2's room we are exploring the story of 'We are going on a Bear Hunt'.
Instead of just reading the story, we thought we would bring it to life and make it interactive for our children.

Last Friday we invited all of the Pre-school children to celebrate moving onto their next chapter with a wonderful graduation in the garden. Thank you to everyone who came and made it such a lovely occasion. Each one of the children will be truly missed but we wish them all the best with their transition to big school.
