🏆 Best Emerging Music Education & Wellbeing Business 2026 🏆
(SME News Enterprise Awards)

🏆 SBA 2026 Finalist 🏆 I’m Rachel Maloy – a singing teacher, vocal coach, and big-time believer in the magic of music and well-being. With over 20 years of experience and a background in both Vocal Balance and Classical training, I help people of all ages

and abilities find their voice – and have a great time doing it! Whether you’re after one-to-one singing lessons, love the idea of singing in a group, or just want to boost your confidence through music, I’ve got something for you. As well as lessons from my home studio, I also lead safe and supportive Singing Mamas groups, a fun and friendly Glee Club Community Choir, teach at Abbot's Hill School and perform professionally myself – so there’s never a dull note around here! Whether you're a confident performer or just starting to find your voice, my goal is to make sure you feel relaxed, supported, and free to grow at your own pace – all from the cosy setting of my home studio in Leighton Buzzard. The name Sing Well With Rachel says it all – it’s about singing better and feeling better. After my own journey through postnatal depression and mental health challenges, I have experienced first hand how singing can lift spirits, build resilience, and bring real joy. My sessions are a safe, welcoming space where we celebrate progress, embrace imperfections, and connect through the pure joy of making music. So come sing with me – your voice is welcome here!

I am delighted to let you know that I am launching a new, quarterly event called 'Sing & .....', where I collaborate with other local wellbeing practitioners to bring you a unique afternoon focused on you, your voice and your wellbeing.

SING & REBALANCE

A unique afternoon experience to inspire clarity, creativity and connection.

When: Sunday 1st November

Where: Pages Park Pavilion, Billington Road, Leighton Buzzard, LU7 4TG

What time: 2-4.30pm

Price: £55
Early Bird Price: £45 (book before 30th September)

REBALANCE

Jackie Elliott supports women in midlife and menopause to understand what’s happening in their bodies, make sense of their symptoms, and explore simple lifestyle shifts that can help them feel steadier, clearer and more like themselves again. Her work is practical, human, and shaped by real life.

In the Sing & Rebalance session, Jackie will guide participants through what’s happening to health and wellbeing during midlife and menopause - and how to turn that understanding into small, achievable actions that support everyday life. Expect calm, clarity, and those gentle “oh, that explains it” moments.

SING

Breathe, connect and discover the healing power of music with a group singing experience from Rachel Maloy. Singing has been proven to support both physical and mental wellbeing, but there are still too many people out there that hold the false belief that they cannot sing. During the session, Rachel will teach you simple, heartfelt songs by ear and show you that if you can speak, you CAN sing. This session is for everyone who has a voice, so if you’ve never sung in a group before, don’t worry – singing is for everyone!

COMMUNITY

Following the group singing, there will be some downtime for community and connection as refreshments are served. Enjoy a selection of cakes and warm drinks as you relax and recharge.

BOOK EARLY TO AVOID DISAPPOINTMENT.

Well, hello! 👋 It’s been a while, hasn’t it?!

I’ve had a little break from social media over the summer, and I have to say, it’s been rather lovely. But now we’re into September, I thought it was probably time I popped my head back in!

There’s something about the beginning of September that always feels like a bit of a reset, isn’t there?

The long summer holidays are coming to an end, routines are starting to creep back in and I’m slowly remembering what day of the week it is!

Being a mum and juggling work around kiddies for six weeks is definitely a juggle. So while I’m always a little sad to see the holidays go, I’m also quite ready for a bit of routine again!

Lessons start next week, and then the following week my Singing Mamas groups and Glee Club UK are back!

I am SO looking forward to getting back in the room with everyone, singing together, having a laugh and getting that lovely singing energy going again.

I’ve got lots planned for the next few months and I’m excited to get stuck back in, so keep your eyes peeled for some exciting announcements!

So… hello again! And happy September!

How are you feeling about getting back into the September routine? Ready for it, or still clinging onto the summer holidays?!

Hi folks,

I'm taking a little social media break over the summer. I'm still here if you want to connect, but won't be posting or checking my account regularly.

As we head into the summer break, I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has joined me to sing, laugh, connect, and make music together this year. Your enthusiasm and support make my job a dream!

Have a wonderful summer, take good care of yourselves, and I'll look forward to welcoming you back in September!

💛 1-2-1 sessions from September are now available to book – just click the link in my bio.

🩷 From September, I'm also opening up more availability for 1-to-1 singing lessons, with sessions available on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Whether you're looking to build confidence, improve your technique, or simply rediscover the joy of singing, I'd love to work with you.

See you soon!

🎵 Eight songs. Countless smiles. One incredible choir 🎵

On Saturday, my wonderful Gleeks (or the Leighton Buzzard Glee Club UK!) filled Wingrave Church with music as they performed eight songs at our Taste of Harmony concert, raising funds for the Tibbs Dementia Foundation and church.

What a performance it was! You sang with energy, emotion and so much heart. And most importantly, you sang together, supporting each other every step of the way.

Being your choir leader (or Purple Leader as I am fondly known) is such a privilege. This choir is about so much more than singing; it's about friendship, encouragement, laughter and creating a space where everyone belongs.

Saturday was a perfect reminder of that.

Thank you for giving your all, for embracing every challenge, and for helping raise so much money for two wonderful causes. You should all be incredibly proud of what we achieved together.

💛 I am so incredibly proud of these amazing singers 💛

On Saturday, ten of my wonderful students took to the stage to perform solos and duets at our Taste of Harmony concert in Wingrave.

For some, it was their very first time singing in public. That takes such courage. The kind of courage that isn't always visible to the audience, but I know just how much hard work, determination and self-belief went into each performance.

Watching every single one of you stand up, trust yourselves (and me!) and share your voices was such a special moment. It isn't about being perfect - it's about telling a story, connecting with the audience and finding the confidence to say, "Here I am, and this is my voice."

Thank you for allowing me to be part of your singing journey. Seeing your growth is one of the greatest joys of my job, and I couldn't be prouder of every single one of you.

I hope that Saturday showed you and others that we are all capable of far more than we think.

What. A. Day.

My heart is so full after yesterday's Taste of Harmony concert in Wingrave.

What an incredible afternoon of music, friendship and community.

Together we raised an amazing £1,466.59 for Tibbs Dementia Foundation and £530 for Wingrave Church.

Thank you to everyone who came along, donated, brought cake, cheered us on and helped make the day so special.

I couldn't be prouder of my wonderful Leighton Buzzard Glee Club UK members and my fabulous Sing Well With Rachel students. Watching you perform with such confidence, warmth and joy was an absolute privilege. You remind me every day why I do what I do.

There was laughter, plenty of singing, delicious cake and, of course, we finished the day with a wonderfully Cornish-themed Glee social! It really was one of those days I'll treasure for a long time.

Thank you to everyone who played a part, whether you were on stage, behind the scenes or in the audience. Your kindness and generosity made a real difference, and I feel so lucky to be able to do what I do.

Watch this space for more photos and videos of the performances.
