Sometimes success at a performing arts school is getting into somewhere like Tring.

Sometimes it’s landing a role.

Sometimes it’s performing a solo.

But sometimes success is a child who was too nervous to join in during their first class finally putting their hand up.

Or walking onto a stage when six months ago they wouldn’t have dreamed of it.

Or making a friend when they’d struggled to find their place elsewhere.

We get to see so many different versions of “success” at Razzamataz Leighton Buzzard and honestly, the little ones feel just as huge as the big ones. 💜

Does anyone else have a child who is constantly performing at home? 🤩

Concert in the living room.
Dance routine in the kitchen.
Full character performance when they’re supposed to be getting dressed…

Those are often our Razz students. 😜

The lovely thing about classes is giving all that energy and imagination somewhere to go and introducing them to singing, drama, musical theatre, pop and commercial dance along the way.

So if your living room currently doubles as a West End theatre… we understand. 😂🎭

One of my favourite things is reading reviews from parents, because sometimes they describe what we do better than I ever could.

It’s never just about learning to sing, dance and act.

Parents tell us about children becoming more confident, finding their people, coming out of their shell, making friendships and finally finding somewhere they feel completely comfortable being themselves.

That’s the bit of Razzamataz I’m most proud of 💜

We teach performing arts, but hopefully they take away so much more than that.

‘The highlight of my little ones’ week! Incredible staff with musical theatre backgrounds... They create confidence and bring out the best in little people, cannot recommend highly enough!’

‘My daughter has always struggled with her confidence, but attending the Leighton Buzzard Razzamataz I can see how more self assured she is - which is invaluable. Thank you again xx’

Something I hear from parents quite often is:

“I’d love them to try performing arts, but they’re really shy.”

And my answer is always - that’s exactly why they should try it. 💜

Children don’t need to arrive at Razzamataz confident enough to sing a solo or stand at the front of the stage.

Some barely want to let go of their parent on their first day.

Then gradually we see the little changes…

A hand goes up.
They make a new friend.
They volunteer for a line.
They stand a little taller.

And eventually you see them doing something you never imagined they’d have the confidence to do.

Those moments are every bit as important to us as the big performances. ✨

There are some moments in this job that make you stop and realise just how special it is to watch children grow. ❤️

One of our students at Razzamataz Leighton Buzzard is leaving us because she has been offered a place at Tring Park School for the Performing Arts – an absolutely incredible achievement! 🤩

We’ve had the privilege of being part of her journey, watching her confidence, ability and love of performing grow, and although we’ll be so sad to see her go, we couldn’t be prouder.

Not every child who walks through our doors dreams of performing professionally and that’s absolutely not what Razzamataz is about. But for those who do have that dream, seeing one of our students take this next step is pretty amazing. 🥹

What a reminder of where a love of performing can take you. 💜
