☀️With another spell of warm weather due imminently, we wanted to let you know about the measures we are taking to ensure all children remain safe, comfortable, and well cared for throughout the day. We were hoping that the air conditioning upstairs would have been fitted this week but there has been a delay on a part and is now looking like next week. Industrial fans are in place to cool the area as much as possible whilst we wait the installation.
☀️Please can you ensure that your child arrives at nursery appropriately dressed for the weather in loose, cool clothing and with a sunhat or they will not be able to access the outdoor area.
☀️The wellbeing of the children is always our highest priority, and during periods of hot weather we have put several additional precautions in place, including:
☀️Encouraging children to drink water regularly throughout the day and ensuring water is always readily available.
☀️Making full use of shaded outdoor areas and limiting time spent in direct sunlight, particularly during the hottest parts of the day.
☀️Incorporating more indoor activities where appropriate to help children stay cool including water play
☀️Applying sunscreen where parental consent has been provided and following individual care plans where applicable.
☀️Encouraging children to wear sun hats whenever they are outdoors.
☀️Monitoring children closely for any signs of discomfort or overheating.
☀️We will continue to monitor weather conditions and adapt our activities as needed to keep everyone safe and comfortable, however, if you decide to keep your child at home during the extremely warm days this week or next, please inform the nursery via the eylog absence recording system.
Thank you for your ongoing support and cooperation. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to speak with a member of the nursery team.
