WN7 OUTREACH CIC Alternative Provision: Community Engagement: Fitness & Wellbeing

'Supporting young people to re-engage, grow and move forward'

With over 10 years experience working with young people and teaching students from a special needs background, we have developed a firm but fun style of delivery. One that promotes further opportunities for everyone that we work with. We focus heavily on enhancing the communication and leadership skills of learners, with a proven track record of improving individuals mental health and well being,

as well as their self esteem and behaviour management. At WN7 we want to offer everyone in our town a safe environment, where they can let off steam and take part in structured physical activities. Our aim is to provide young people with the tools and strategies to enable them to become good members of the local community. Our vision is simple: To ensure that all our members are physically active and can develop leadership qualities through engagement and participation.

πŸ“šβœοΈ CAN YOU HELP US STOCK OUR CLASSROOM? βœοΈπŸ“š

With the new school term just around the corner, we’re getting everything ready to welcome our young people back to WN7 β€” and we could really use a little help from our amazing community! πŸ’š

As our Alternative Provision continues to grow, so does the amount of stationery and classroom resources we get through. We want every young person who walks through our doors to have everything they need to learn, create and get involved β€” without families ever having to worry about providing it themselves.

We’re currently looking for donations of:

✏️ Pens, pencils & colouring pencils
πŸ–ŠοΈ Whiteboard pens & highlighters
πŸ““ Notebooks, pads & exercise books
πŸ“ Rulers, maths sets & calculators
🎨 Arts & crafts supplies
πŸ“ Folders, wallets & storage
πŸ–¨οΈ Printer paper & card
βœ‚οΈ Scissors, glue sticks, Sellotape & general classroom supplies

New items would be hugely appreciated, whether it’s a single pack of pens or a box full of supplies. Every donation genuinely helps us keep more of our funding focused directly on supporting our young people.

If any local businesses, supermarkets, offices or organisations have surplus stationery or would like to sponsor some classroom supplies, we’d also love to hear from you. πŸ’š

For anyone who would prefer to make a financial contribution, we’ve also set up a fundraising page here:

https://www.neighbourly.com/project/6a047b4c6427ba6dc33a3980/fundraising/6a108a294d553c5a0af61fb5

Even if you can’t donate, a share of this post could put it in front of someone who can. πŸ™

We’re incredibly lucky to have the backing of our local community, and every bit of support helps us create a welcoming, well-equipped environment where our young people can thrive.

πŸ’š This is Leigh. This is WN7. πŸ’š

πŸ’š LEIGH & ATHERTON β€” WE NEED YOUR VOTES! πŸ’š

We’re really pleased to share that WN7 Outreach CIC has been selected for Tesco Stronger Starts and you can now vote for us in Tesco stores in Leigh and Atherton! πŸ™Œ

If you’re doing your shopping, please grab one of the blue tokens at the checkout and drop it into the WN7 Outreach CIC section. πŸ”΅πŸ’š

Our project will help us provide healthy fruit, vegetables and nutritious snacks for the young people attending WN7 Alternative Provision and our community programmes.

For many of the young people we work with, providing food is an important part of what we do. It helps make sure they are fuelled for learning, physical activity and the different opportunities we provide throughout the week.

And the best bit… every little blue token counts!

πŸ›’ Shopping in Leigh or Atherton Tesco? β€” Vote WN7!
πŸ”΅ Pick up your token
πŸ’š Pop it in the WN7 Outreach CIC box
πŸ“² Please SHARE this post and ask your friends, family, colleagues and local businesses to vote for us too!

Voting is open until 30 November 2026, so we've got plenty of time to get Leigh and Atherton behind us.

The support we receive from our local community makes a massive difference to what we're able to provide for young people. Something as simple as dropping a token into a box can help us continue giving them positive opportunities, support, healthy food and somewhere they feel they belong.

If you're in Tesco β€” please think WN7! πŸ’š

πŸ’š A HUGE THANK YOU TO M & D ELECTRICAL! πŸ’š

We want to give a massive shout-out to Matt and the team at M & D Electrical who very kindly came down to WN7 today and supplied and fitted brand-new lighting in our gym completely FREE OF CHARGE! πŸ‘πŸ’‘

The new lighting has made a huge difference to the space and is another big step towards getting our new WN7 gym ready to open its doors.

As a Community Interest Company, support like this genuinely means a lot to us. Every time a local business donates its time, skills, materials or expertise, it means we can put more of our resources directly into supporting the young people, families and wider community of Leigh.

We are incredibly fortunate to have some brilliant local businesses who believe in what we're trying to achieve at WN7 and are prepared to get behind us. Matt and his team are another fantastic example of that community spirit. πŸ’š

So, if you're looking for electrical work, please support the businesses that support their local community and give M & D Electrical a look. βš‘πŸ™Œ

Matt β€” thank you again to you and the whole team. You've done a brilliant job and your generosity is massively appreciated by everyone at WN7.

πŸ”₯ SUMMER ACTIVITIES β€” HALF WAY THERE! πŸ”₯

And that’s a wrap on the first half of our WN7 Summer Activities! πŸ™Œ

What a few weeks it has been! πŸ’šπŸ–€

From taking 40 young people to Low Bank Ground in the Lake District πŸ”οΈ, to delivering 657 child places across our first two weeks of activities, we’ve been absolutely blown away by the numbers, the energy and, most importantly, the young people getting involved! πŸ‘

And to finish the first half of the summer, Positive Pathways teamed up with our group and Leigh Leopards Foundation πŸ†πŸ‰, taking close to 80 young people and parents to the match against York Knights RLFC last night!

It’s been another brilliant opportunity to get young people involved in positive activities, try new things, make memories and build relationships within our community. ❀️

We’re also continuing to grow our community partnerships, working alongside local organisations, businesses, clubs and partners to create even more opportunities for the young people and families we support. 🀝

Building these relationships and bringing our community together is a huge part of what WN7 is about, and we’re really excited about what we can continue to achieve together. πŸ’š

Now we take a well-earned two-week break before we’re back for our FINAL week of Summer Activities! β˜€οΈπŸ”₯

A huge thank you to everyone who has supported us, worked with us, volunteered, funded, partnered with us and, of course, to every young person who has got involved.

πŸ’™ Another exciting community partnership in the works! πŸ’™

A huge thank you to NextPhase Talent for the kind words and for choosing WN7 Outreach as a place to work with players, families and young athletes.

We’re really pleased to be able to provide a professional space where NextPhase can meet with players and families, carry out player profiling, review performances and help young people understand the pathways available to them. πŸ‰πŸ“ˆ

For us, this is exactly what WN7 Outreach is about β€” creating opportunities, bringing organisations together and giving young people access to positive experiences, support and people who can help them reach their potential.

The fact that organisations like NextPhase Talent are now using our facilities to support the development of young athletes is something we're genuinely proud of. πŸ’ͺ

We’re looking forward to building on this partnership and seeing where it takes us. There’s a lot more to come! πŸš€

Thank you again to the team at NextPhase Talent for the recognition and for the work you’re doing to support the next generation of players. πŸ‘

πŸ†βœ¨ We're absolutely delighted to have been named as finalists for the Community Impact Award at the Wigan Business Awards 2026! βœ¨πŸ†

To be honest, this came as a complete surprise to all of us, so a massive thank you to everyone who took the time to nominate WN7 Outreach.

It genuinely means the world to us.
We're not in this for awards or recognition. The greatest reward will always be the respect, trust and recognition we receive from the young people and families we work with across Leigh. Seeing them grow in confidence, overcome challenges and achieve things they never thought possible is exactly why we do what we do. πŸ’šπŸ’™

That said, being recognised by our community and making it to the finals is something we're incredibly proud of, and we're really looking forward to what promises to be a fantastic evening celebrating the amazing people and organisations making a difference across our borough. πŸŽ‰

A huge congratulations to all of the other finalists in the Community Impact Award category too. πŸ‘ It's an honour to be recognised alongside so many organisations doing incredible work.

Thank you again to everyone who continues to support WN7 Outreach. This recognition belongs to our amazing staff, volunteers, partners, supporters, and most importantly, the incredible young people who inspire us every single day. ❀️
