'Supporting young people to re-engage, grow and move forward'

With over 10 years experience working with young people and teaching students from a special needs background, we have developed a firm but fun style of delivery. One that promotes further opportunities for everyone that we work with. We focus heavily on enhancing the communication and leadership skills of learners, with a proven track record of improving individuals mental health and well being, as well as their self esteem and behaviour management. At WN7 we want to offer everyone in our town a safe environment, where they can let off steam and take part in structured physical activities. Our aim is to provide young people with the tools and strategies to enable them to become good members of the local community. Our vision is simple: To ensure that all our members are physically active and can develop leadership qualities through engagement and participation.

☕ Introducing Coffee & Conversations at WN7

Navigating education and finding the right support for your child isn't always straightforward.

We regularly speak to parents and carers who have questions, feel unsure about the options available or simply wish they had someone to talk things through with.

That's why we're opening our doors for our first Coffee & Conversations morning.

Hosted by Clare, a grandparent with a wealth of personal experience and knowledge of navigating education and additional support, this will be a relaxed, friendly opportunity to:

- Meet other parents and carers with similar experiences.
- Share thoughts, challenges and ideas in a welcoming environment.
- Talk about education, additional needs and the different support pathways available.
- Build confidence in understanding processes, options and where to find further guidance.
- Enjoy a brew and a chat with people who understand.

This isn't a formal advice service or a meeting about individual schools. It's simply about bringing families together, sharing experiences and helping one another feel better informed and less isolated.

Whether your child is struggling in education, has additional needs, attends alternative provision or you're simply trying to understand what support may be available, you're welcome.

🏐💚 WN7 Positive Pathways Netball – Session Wrap-Up! 💗

Another great session tonight! Our netball group is growing, with 16 girls joining us tonight, despite a few regulars being unable to attend and a couple hiding off the photo! The girls got stuck into bib tag, learned the basic rules of netball, worked on their footwork and reaction times, before finishing with a big game to put their new skills into practice! 👏🔥

Plenty of energy, teamwork and skills on show! 💪

🚐 WN7 IS BACK ON THE ROAD!

Earlier this year, we launched a crowdfunding campaign with one big goal — to get WN7 Outreach CIC a minibus of our own🙏

Thanks to an incredible response from our community, local businesses and supporters — alongside vital match funding from the Mortgage Advice Bureau — we made it happen. 💚

And now… the bus is officially on the road and fully sign-written thanks to E.A. Signs

A massive thank you to every person who donated, shared the campaign or supported us along the way, and especially to the brilliant businesses who have sponsored the vehicle and continue to back the work we do with young people across Leigh and the wider community.

But we don't want these partnerships to simply be a logo on the side of our bus.

Over the coming weeks, we'll be taking some of our young people out in the WN7 bus to visit each of our sponsors individually. They'll get the opportunity to see behind the scenes, learn about different businesses and careers, meet the people who make them work and, where possible, get involved in some volunteering or hands-on activities.

We'll also be getting a photo at every stop and introducing each business properly on our socials — so keep an eye out for our sponsor visits! 👀

For us, that's what community partnership should look like: businesses supporting young people, and young people getting the opportunity to learn more about the businesses and opportunities right on their doorstep.

And if you see the WN7 bus out and about around Leigh, give us a wave! 👋🚐💚

Once again, thank you to everyone who helped put WN7 on the road.

There's too many to tag on here so we will be making a community supporters board at our base.

This isn't just transport for us. It's going to open up opportunities, experiences and connections for the young people we support.

Another brilliant Friday night with the girls!

Tonight’s Positive Pathways session focused on:
🏃‍♀️ Engaging warm-up
🛡️ Defence games & positioning
🏐 Passing and movement
📍 Understanding court lines
👣 Footwork, spacing & movement off the ball
🔥 Big game to put it all into practice
🧘‍♀️ Cool-down to finish

The girls are continuing to build confidence, develop their skills and, most importantly, have fun together. 💪

💚 POSITIVE PATHWAYS – THE NEXT CHAPTER! 💚

Great to see Wigan Council sharing the news about the continuation of our Positive Pathways programme.

One of the most important things for us has been making sure the next phase is shaped by the young people themselves. Over recent months we’ve listened to them, had them into WN7, talked about what they want to see locally and involved them in planning what Positive Pathways could look like going forward.

And we’ve already started putting some of that into action.

Our girls-only netball sessions are underway, alongside our girls fitness/gym sessions, with plenty more activities and opportunities being developed as the programme grows.

The £28,000 support from Wigan Borough Community Safety Partnership allows us to continue delivering Positive Pathways through to March 2027 — providing outreach, mentoring, sport, activities and positive opportunities, while giving young people access to trusted adults and somewhere they feel comfortable engaging.

Alongside this, we’ve also been busy developing WN7 itself, with the refurbishment of our Cotton Mill base and new facilities giving us even more options for engaging young people and supporting the wider work we do.

For us, it all ties together — listen to young people, build relationships, find out what they actually want and then create opportunities around them.

A massive thank you to the Community Safety Partnership for continuing to support the delivery of Positive Pathways, and to all the young people who have helped us shape what comes next.

Some of it has already started… and there’s a lot more to come. 💚
