📣 Additional Year 6 Parent/Carer Tours Added!

Due to popular demand, we have added extra tours for parents and carers of Year 6 pupils.

⏰ 1.30pm or 2.30pm

⏰ 11.15am

Tours last approximately 30 minutes and provide an opportunity to see our school in action, meet members of staff and experience the WHSG environment.

11+ Results Open Afternoon

Monday 19 October 2026 - 2:15pm (booking not required)

Congratulations to all Year 6 boys who have successfully passed the 11+.

We invite you to join us for our 11+ Results Open Afternoon, where you will have the opportunity to:

• Tour our school and facilities
• Experience live lessons in action
• Meet our staff and see our school community in action
• Hear from our Headteacher

We look forward to welcoming prospective students and their families to Southend High School for Boys.

Please note: there will be no parking available on site. As the school will be in session, there will be a high level of student movement around the site and we need to keep access routes clear and ensure the safety of our students. We therefore ask visitors to make alternative parking arrangements and allow sufficient time to walk to the school.

If you would like to follow the 11 Plus Pod programme but can’t travel to Leigh, we have partnered with Weducation Tech in Shoebury. They are running group classes on a Saturday for Year 5 and also have spaces for 1:1, paired and small group Year 4 & 5 11+ tuition during the week.

Our King John Entrance Exam workshop is being held this Sunday from 10:00-12:30 to help prepare children for next Saturday's exam.

In the workshop, we will look at different question types, techniques and strategies for completing the exam.

So excited for Caroline!

Caroline has worked alongside us at 11 Plus Pod in Leigh for some time now, doing a fantastic job preparing children for the 11+ exam. She has now taken the leap, and will continue to work closely with 11 Plus Pod, from her new tuition centre that has opened in Shoebury.

She will be delivering the same tuition programme we use in our Leigh centre and we look forward to continuing to collaborate and work alongside each other for many years to come.
