Some of our Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 children had a fantastic time taking part across the day in the Mini Games event at The Eastwood Academy!

The event featured a carousel of fun and engaging sports activities, all organised and led by the dedicated Sports Leaders from The Eastwood Academy. It was wonderful to see children from local schools coming together to challenge themselves, support one another and, most importantly, have fun!

Throughout the day, our pupils truly embraced the Olympic values of Friendship, Excellence, Respect, Courage, Determination, Inspiration, and Equality. We are incredibly proud of their enthusiasm, teamwork and positive attitudes.

A huge thank you to The Eastwood Academy and their Sports Leaders for hosting such a fantastic event and creating memorable experiences for all the children.

Well done to everyone who took part! 🌟👏

20 Year 2 children attended the Key Stage 1 Borough Sports competition today and came a fantastic second place 🥈What a fantastic achievement for our children! Thriving in their Skipping, egg and spoon, space hoppers and relay sprints races. Check out their medals they will be wearing in school over the next few days.

WHAT AN INCREDIBLE DAY!

Over 59 of our Key Stage 2 children took part in the Browne Foundation Triathlon yesterday at Garons Leisure Centre.

Created by the Olympic Brownlee brothers, this fantastic event gives children the opportunity to enjoy triathlon in a fun, positive and inclusive environment. Our pupils swam, cycled (some scooted) and ran with determination, enthusiasm and huge smiles.

We are so proud of every single child who took part. They showed fantastic resilience, team work and encouragement. Well done to our young athletes, you should be incredibly proud 🏊 🚲 🏃‍♀️ 🏃

What started in the rain but ended in the sunshine, yesterday our ks2 borough sports team came an AMAZING SECOND PLACE in the field event with an overall 5th place finish.

Our Eastwood children were fantastic, and I know I say Eastwood spirit a lot, they truly did have it in abundance. SO PROUD OF THEM!

A huge well done to one of our amazing Year 5 pupils, Hylia, who represented our school at the Essex cross country finals at Garons today. Finishing an incredible 8th place against such strong competition is a fantastic achievement and we are all so proud of her determination, resilience and effort. Today was the turn of Year 4 at the indoor sports hall athletics competition.  An event which includes throwing, jumping and running of obstacles, tunnels and relays. Our children did themselves and our school really proud.  We know they had lots of fun at the fully packed event. Well done all!

It was the turn of some of our KS1 children at the the Panathlon Key Skills competition and they finished as WINNERS 🥇. Such a great event for all children involved and the medals were just the icing on the cake. Well done boys and girls!
