Year 6 have been learning all about the circulatory system and had a fantastic visit today to bring their learning to life!

The children made their own working representations of a lung and diaphragm, before getting hands on and exploring real organs, including the heart, liver and kidneys. 🫀🫁

Today we said a fond farewell to our incredible Year 6 pupils as they begin an exciting new chapter.

From their fantastic leavers' assembly to an unforgettable line dance that had everyone smiling, they ended their time at STM in style! 💃🕺

You have grown in confidence, kindness and resilience, and we couldn't be prouder of everything you have achieved. We know you will continue to shine as you move on to secondary school, carrying with you the memories, friendships and values you've built here.

Today we also said goodbye to two very special members of our school family, Mrs Lambert and Mrs Hunter. Thank you both for your dedication, care and the difference you have made to so many children over the years. You will be greatly missed, and we wish you every happiness in your next adventures.

Yesterday, Year 5 were delighted to welcome some very special visitors from Better Together as part of our delayed celebration of Windrush Day.

Our guests generously shared their personal experiences, memories and stories, helping bring this important part of British history to life. The children listened with great respect and curiosity, asking thoughtful, insightful questions throughout the visit.

A huge thank you to Better Together and our wonderful visitors for giving our pupils such a meaningful opportunity to learn through real-life experiences.

🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️ Saffron Lane Athletics Competition 🏅

A huge well done to our athletics team for representing St Thomas More at the Saffron Lane Athletics event last week.

The children showed fantastic determination, resilience and sportsmanship throughout the day, giving their very best in every event and supporting one another from start to finish. We were incredibly proud of the way they represented our school, demonstrating our values both on and off the track.

Whether competing in running, jumping or throwing events, every child gave 100% effort and showed great teamwork and encouragement towards others.

Thank you to the staff and parents who supported the event, and congratulations to all of our athletes for a wonderful day of competition and achievement. 🌟

🎉 Year 6 SATs Celebration Trip 🎉

What a fantastic day our Year 6 children had at Twinlakes! After all their hard work, determination and resilience during SATs week, it was lovely to celebrate together with a well-deserved day of fun, laughter and sunshine. 🌞

From thrilling rides to time spent with friends, the children represented our school brilliantly and made some wonderful memories together. We are so proud of the maturity, perseverance and positive attitude they have shown throughout the year — they truly earned this special treat!

It’s safe to say the children weren’t the only ones enjoying themselves… some staff may have embraced the rides a little too enthusiastically! 🎢😂

A huge thank you to all staff and parents who helped organise and support the trip. 💙

St. Thomas More Summer Fest 2026!

⭐️ After the huge success last year, we are so excited to start planning Summer Fest, 2026! This one is a special one, with it being the school’s 60th Anniversary! So please invite all your family and friends to come along with you to celebrate!

⚠️ We’ll need plenty of volunteers to help make the event a success, so please consider getting involved in any way you can! We would love children to hold their own stalls, supervised by parents, so please get thinking of ideas and we will be in touch with forms at a later date!

🐥 Exciting news in Robins Reception!

Our ducklings have started to hatch! The children have been fascinated watching the eggs crack and seeing our fluffy new arrivals make their way into the world.

This has been such a special learning experience, full of wonder, curiosity and lots of excitement! The children have loved observing the changes and talking about how we care for living things.

A wonderful reminder of new life, patience and responsibility 💛
