Why Choose PCS? 💜 How do you know a course is making a real difference?
For one of our lecturers, Dr Simon Wheeler, it’s when students confidently discuss complex topics they’ve never encountered before - like ligand docking 🧬
Watching students develop the knowledge, confidence and scientific thinking needed to understand advanced concepts is one of the most rewarding parts of teaching. It’s a reminder that learning isn’t just about memorising facts - it’s about building the skills to tackle new challenges and think like a scientist 🧑🔬
On PCS, our students progress from learning the fundamentals in first year to exploring cutting-edge topics in their final year, developing the confidence and expertise needed for careers in the pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries.
Watch to hear why seeing that transformation is proof that the course works! 🧪✨
The PCS Formulation Files: Product Breakdown 🧴🔬
Ever wondered what’s really inside your skincare products? Today, two of our third-year PCS students take a closer look at the CeraVe Blemish Control Cleanser, breaking down its ingredient list and explaining the role each component plays in the formulation.
From surfactants and active ingredients to viscosity modifiers, pH adjusters and preservatives, this is the kind of formulation analysis students learn throughout the PCS course. Understanding why each ingredient is included and how they work together is a key skill for anyone pursuing a career in pharmaceutical or cosmetic formulation – and it’s exactly the type of industry-focused knowledge you’ll gain on PCS 🧪✨
