Year 6 Step Back in Time with During the War Production

Year 6 had an amazing time watching a theatre production of "During the War"! 🎭 This exciting educational production took us back to what life was like for families in Britain during World War II. Through a mix of drama, humor, and delightful 1940s music, our students learned all about important events like the Blitz, blackouts, rationing, and evacuation.

This performance tied directly into our History curriculum, helping our children appreciate the challenges faced by people during the war while giving them valuable insights into everyday life back then. 🌟 The immersive experience truly sparked their curiosity and deepened their understanding of this significant time in history.

The children loved every moment and were fully engaged throughout the show! It was definitely a memorable and enriching learning adventure. 🎉

Year 3 recently enjoyed an engaging Maths Roadshow led by Cat Stone, L.E.A.D.'s Primary Lead Practitioner for Maths. The school hall featured 15 activity stations, each presenting unique challenges focused on skills like number bonds, shape, and pattern recognition.

Working in pairs or small groups, students tackled tasks that fostered their mathematical understanding and developed resilience and confidence. The atmosphere was filled with enthusiasm and teamwork as they applied their skills in a fun way, often pushing through difficult challenges. Many students remarked on how enjoyable and challenging the activities were.

Outstanding performers received ‘Star Challenge’ stickers for their efforts. The workshop successfully showcased mathematics as an exciting and rewarding subject, inspiring children to continue developing their skills.

The kids left the workshop smiling and eager for their next maths challenge! 😊✨
