🌿 Welcome Back for the Trinity Term 🌿

We are pleased to welcome all pupils, staff and families back to the Leicester Grammar School Trust for the start of the Trinity Term.

We hope the Easter break provided a valuable opportunity for rest and reflection, and that everyone returns ready for a productive and rewarding term ahead. We look forward to a continued focus on academic excellence, co-curricular enrichment and the many opportunities this term will bring.

✨ Celebrating International Women’s Day ✨

To mark the occasion, we welcomed back two inspiring Old Leicestrians who are forging successful careers in traditionally male-dominated fields.

Ava Sjoberg OL’17, now a Chemical Engineer, and Kate Bailey OL’22, working in Military Medicine, returned to speak to pupils from both Leicester Grammar School Senior and LGS Stoneygate.

Their talks offered a fascinating insight into their career journeys and encouraged pupils to think boldly about their own futures, breaking barriers and challenging stereotypes.

A wonderful example of the strength of the Old Leicestrians community and the inspiration it continues to provide for the next generation across the Leicester Grammar School Trust. 💫

This morning, Dr Purves, Principal of the Leicester Grammar School Trust and Head of Leicester Grammar School; Mrs Ashworth Jones, Headmistress of Leicester Grammar Junior School; and Mrs McCullough, Headmistress of LGS Stoneygate, gathered at the Great Glen Cenotaph to honour those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

They were joined by student representatives from Leicester Grammar School, Leicester Grammar Junior School, and LGS Stoneygate in a moving act of remembrance.

Mr Milward, our School Chaplain, led a heartfelt reflection, followed by a moment of silence as wreaths were laid in tribute.

We pause with gratitude and respect for all who gave their lives for our freedom.
We will remember them. ❤️

🧠Today, on World Mental Health Day, we stand together as the LGS Trust community – Leicester Grammar School, Leicester Grammar Junior School, and LGS Stoneygate – to affirm our commitment to supporting the mental health and wellbeing of every pupil, staff member and family.

Across our schools, wellbeing is woven into daily life: from dedicated spaces like our Wellbeing Hubs and counselling support, to pastoral care, mindfulness programmes, and pupil-led initiatives that encourage openness and resilience. Our staff are equipped with the training, resources and care needed to support pupils effectively, and our commitment has been recognised nationally with the Wellbeing Award for Schools from the National Children's Bureau.
