TODAY’S BIBLE READING — GENESIS 44:16–20

WHEN GOD EXPOSES THE HEART

Judah and his brothers stood before Joseph, admitting that they had no explanation for the silver cup being found in Benjamin’s sack. Judah acknowledged that God had uncovered their wrongdoing and offered that they all remain as servants.

Joseph refused and said only the person who had the cup would stay. Judah then began explaining their family situation, including their father and Benjamin, the youngest brother.

What began as a test was bringing hidden things to the surface and revealing a changed heart.

TODAY’S BIBLE READING — GENESIS 44:11–15

WHEN THE HIDDEN THING IS FOUND

Joseph’s brothers quickly opened their sacks, and the silver cup was found in Benjamin’s sack. They tore their clothes in distress and returned to the city.

When they came before Joseph, he questioned them about what they had done.

What seemed like a sudden disaster was actually part of Joseph’s test, revealing how they would respond when Benjamin was in trouble.

TODAY’S BIBLE READING — GENESIS 44:6–10

A TEST OF INTEGRITY

Joseph’s steward caught up with his brothers and accused them of stealing Joseph’s silver cup. Shocked by the accusation, they insisted that none of them had taken it and even offered themselves as servants if the cup was found.

The steward agreed that the one found with the cup would become his servant, while the others would be free to go.

Sometimes a test reveals what is truly in the heart.

TODAY’S BIBLE READING — GENESIS 44:1–5

A TEST OF CHARACTER

Joseph ordered his steward to fill his brothers’ sacks with grain and secretly place his silver cup in Benjamin’s sack. After they left, the steward was instructed to pursue them and accuse them of taking the cup.

What looked like a difficult situation was actually part of Joseph’s plan to test his brothers.

Sometimes God allows a test not to destroy us, but to reveal what is truly in our hearts.

TODAY’S BIBLE READING — GENESIS 43:30–34

WHEN EMOTIONS MEET PURPOSE

Joseph was deeply moved when he saw his brother Benjamin and had to leave the room to weep. After regaining his composure, he returned and ordered the meal to be served.

Joseph’s brothers were seated according to their ages, and they were amazed. Benjamin received a portion five times larger than everyone else.

God was quietly arranging every detail according to His purpose.

TODAY’S BIBLE READING — GENESIS 43:25–29

WHEN GOD BRINGS THE PAST BEFORE YOU

Joseph’s brothers prepared their gifts for Joseph and waited for him to arrive. When Joseph came home, they presented their gifts and bowed before him, fulfilling the dreams Joseph had received years earlier.

Joseph asked about their father and then looked at Benjamin, his younger brother, asking if he was the brother they had mentioned.

What God revealed years ago was now unfolding before their eyes.
